Life's Ebb and Flow: A Moment of Reflection

When simply thinking about the sea, we often see it as nature's beautiful landscape, a place where we can find refuge from this very demanding life. A place where we can escape for a little while and have some fun. A place where we can forget for some time the heavy loads we bear inside us. A place where we can spend quality time with our loved ones. In short, it's a physical place where we can have a moment of restoration and healing. With that, I can say that the endless dance of waves meeting the shore is like our journey of emotions. Just like how the weather drives the mood of the sea, we, too, have different emotions driven by life's occurrences.
This is what I usually ponder every time I'm at the sea, spending "me" time and taking photos. The sea is always shifting—its tides rise and fall, its waves crash, and sometimes the water is so calm. It's just like us people. Our lives too are in constant motion, and we feel different emotions from different circumstances.

I don't know where these words are coming from. I just write everything that comes from my heart and mind right now. As a kid who would spend time on the beach, I perceived the place as somewhere I could have fun with family and friends. Yet right now, ironically, I have these kinds of thoughts, and for sure all of these are based on my experiences in the past and present. This is probably because I am much overwhelmed by adulthood, a time when I have experienced this very significant transition in my life. A time when there is a lot to reflect on.

Spending time on a beach with the sunrise is like feeling a joyful emotion. When we relate it to our experiences, sunrise is a symbol of happiness, new beginnings, and a fresh feeling. We sometimes feel happy, especially if something good happens or if something is going quite well, just like how the rays of the sun bring light and sparkle to the sea. There are also times we feel sad. It's like swimming on a beach while it’s raining, where the ambiance and surroundings seem so gloomy. However, just like the temperament of the sea, we have these natural waves that push and pull from the shore. The same goes for us. We have this character that, no matter how much life breaks us, tears us apart, and weighs us down, we still come back stronger and tenacious in life.

Let this be a reminder that just like the atmosphere of the waters, our life is ever-changing, and whatever you're dealing with right now is not the kind of life you're going to live for the rest of your life. Everything changes, and you have to maneuver that change to successfully turn it into how you want it to be. Just as with the tides of the sea, whatever your emotions are is natural and valid.
