My favourite day of the week

Everyone does have that particular day they love more than the rest for one reason or the other. For workers and students, that day is either Friday or Saturday, but for those that also go to work on Saturday, their favourite day is probably Sunday because they have the opportunity to rest after a productive week (and also have it in mind that Monday is around the corner 😉). For me, my favourite day totally depends on where I am and what my daily routines are.

Back when I was still a student at the university, my favourite day was no doubt Sunday because there were no classes that day. I would have picked Saturday but there are some Saturdays I had to go into campus to take care of one thing or the other but I mostly spend my Sundays at home, which makes it my favourite day. But now that I have graduated and am back home with my parents, Sunday has become my most hated day 😅 why? Because it's the most stressful for me, considering everyone will be at home and chores will be flying in from all angles.

African parents don't like seeing their children just chilling, they will always come up with an unnecessary errand or chore just to keep you "busy", and that's what mine does on Sundays. So, Sunday is out of the line, which means my favourite day is probably Monday, right? I mean, it makes sense that the day after Sunday will definitely be my favourite but unfortunately, it is not and that's because I'm always out of energy on most Mondays (considering how chaotic Sundays usually are) and I don't do much productive things that day.

And that brings us to Tuesday, which is actually my favourite day of the week. It's a bit weird, isn't it? I mean, when have you heard anybody pick a random day like Tuesday as their favourite? It's usually Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and then everyone hates Monday (you do, right?). The only time I have seen someone remotely pick Tuesday as their favourite is in one of Migos' songs titled "Taco Tuesday" (maybe it's their favourite because of the taco? I don't know). But, why Tuesday?

Tuesdays are my most productive day in the week. Considering I'm always lazy on most Mondays, my Tuesdays start with so much energy and I most time accomplish twice what I do on other days, so in a way it makes up for the unproductivity of Monday. Today is just one of those days and I have been jumping from one task to another since morning while taking short bursts of breaks. Wednesdays are sort of similar but I slow my pace and continue that way for the rest of the week till it's Saturday and then I start going into hibernation mode in preparation for Sunday.

Things might probably change when I finally have a job and a day like Friday or Saturday might be the next favourite, it's basically dynamic and changes based on the situation. But for now, it's Tuesday but to make it general, any day that is not Sunday is my favourite 😅. I wonder if anybody sees Monday as their favourite, it's usually the busiest day for a lot of people, most especially workers. It's not particularly the most hated day for me right now but it's right next to Sunday. Tuesdays are my favourite, and I know it seems weird to a lot of people because the first question that comes to my mind is; "what's so special about Tuesday?"
