Greetings to everyone! Today I want to share these photographs of one of the cities that I think are the most beautiful in Venezuela, a city where I have many memories and anecdotes because I lived there for a little over a decade. This city is Valencia, Carabobo state - Venezuela.
While I was looking for photos in my photography portfolio I found many photos of Valencia, and it brought back many memories of the many times I went out on its streets to walk around and take photos, it was a routine I had almost daily and in this way I got to know many of its places although I still needed to know much more.
Although I was actually born in the state of Mérida - Venezuela, raised in the state of Bolívar because my father and a large part of my family is from this region. Then at 16 years old I went to study in the city of Valencia, for many reasons because I already had many friends who already lived in that city and also because I have always loved Valencia, both for the beauty of the city and everything I could find.
A city where I lived for about 14 years, where I made many friends that still last, a city where I met my wife more than 8 years ago, a city where I did my university studies and also began my career. As well as a city that always caught my attention for its architecture, culture and history. Every street I knew is a story of a whole history and anecdotes, an endless number of stories in every corner and images that I allowed myself to capture forever.
This is how one becomes fond of that place where you are, not only because you were born in that place, or you grew up or because at some point you also happened to live in that place where you began to have a life. That is what has happened to me with Valencia, memories of many moments and the nostalgia of certain places that these photographs bring me, it is a feeling as if I were in that place or I would like to be in many of those places that I loved again.
I am not saying that the city where I currently live is bad, which is Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar state - Venezuela. City where I grew up partly and where I have lived with my wife for 2 years, but sometimes I feel as if I really belong in Valencia, be it for many reasons that I could mention or simply for pleasure, but I hope in the future to be able to return to live in Valencia, well those are plans that my wife and I have in having that return, but due to certain commitments we have not been able to return, however it is never too late and at any time I will be able to walk again all those streets where at some point I left my footprints and many memories, such as I show with these photos that are like photographic postcards for my memory.
All photographs are my own.
