A beautiful day just right for a 4 mile out and back hike over in Copper Basin with my little Lulu.
We started off with a little bit different walk with a hill clomb up to a new housing development overlooking our park. The trail up was just a narrow path that climbed up the rocky hillside before we strolled back down the dirt road that eventually will connect with the neighborhood down below where we normally walk.
The warming weather has brought out the wildlife as we had to pause for a deer traffic jam on the way up to the Basin.
The last of the melting snow meant there was still a bit of water for us to slog through as we hiked down the normally dry wash. Lulu was having a great time exploring and I was finding a few pretty rocks along the way.
The hiking wasn't too difficult although the wash was full of rocks so I had to pay attention and not trip up too often. By the time we came to our turnaround point the water had disappeared from the wash and the sun had warmed both of us up.
It was nice for Lulu once we were heading back as she could enjoy a nice cooling drink
All in all we had a fun time and I hope we can have another good day together tomorrow.
