June is here, the month of pride, and although the whole story about pride alone deserves a post (which I will probably do later), I will do what I do best and recommend movies that touch the lgbt theme in an incredible way, being, for me, great movies not only with that theme, but simply movies, as human as heartbreaking.

Llego Junio, el mes del pride, y aunque ya por si solo toda la historia acerca del pride merece un post (que probablemente haré después), haré lo que mejor sé hacer y voy a recomendar películas que tocan el tema lgbt de forma increíble, siendo, para mí, grandes películas no solo con esa temática, sino simplemente películas, tan humanas como desgarradoras.

Happy Together: Wong Kar Wai is undoubtedly one of my favorite directors and if someone told me that Happy Together is his best film, I would accept it without hesitation. A beautiful film in its form and photography, it tells us about the toxic relationship of two Hong Kong men living in Argentina. With the most incredible performance by Tony Leung, the film is not to be missed anywhere, uniting soundtrack with story and cinematography in a way that only Wong kar Wai could do.

Happy together: Wong Kar Wai es sin duda uno de mis directores favoritos y si alguien me dice que Happy Together es su mejor película, lo aceptaría sin titubear ni un poco. Una película hermosa en su forma y fotografía, que nos cuenta la relación tóxica de dos hombres de Hong Kong que viven en Argentina. Con la actuación más increíble de Tony Leung, la película no tiene perdida por ningún lado, uniendo soundtrack con historia y fotografía de una forma que solo Wong kar Wai podría hacer.

Strange Way to Life: the last “film” (it is a half-film, since it is only sixty minutes long) that Almodovar has given us is a homosexual western between Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke, with also Manu Rios and Jose Condessa, telling both a story of revenge and love in such a short time that it seems a skill that only a good director and writer could have. In addition, Almodovar does not fail to put his aesthetics even in a cowboy movie, as these are dressed in a totally colorful way full of red and green colors as they are classic Spanish director.

Strange Way to Life: la última “película” (es un medio metraje, ya que dura solo sesenta minutos) que nos ha dado Almodovar es un western homosexual entre Pedro Pascal y Ethan Hawke, con también Manu Rios y Jose Condessa, contando tanto una historia de venganza como de amor en tan poco tiempo que parece una habilidad que solo un buen director y escritor podría tener. Además, Almodovar no deja de poner su estética así sea en una película de vaqueros, ya que estos están vestidos de forma totalmente colorida llena de colores rojos y verdes como son clásicos del director español.

Euphoria; fuck everyone whos not a sea blop: remember auphoria? The first season is great and the second, in terms of photography is even better, but the truth is that it declined a lot. However, it has Jules, one of the most interesting trans characters that pop culture has given us in a long time, and it also has a special one-hour episode. In this episode, Jules opens up about her psychology and recounts all the moments she remembers from her year, along with her relationship with Rue, talking to us about how it feels to be a woman, how it feels to be trans, how it feels to not be understood.

Euphoria; fuck everyone whos not a sea blop: ¿recuerdan auphoria? La primera temporada es genial y la segunda, en cuanto a fotografía es aún mejor, pero la verdad es que decayó mucho. Sin embargo, tiene a Jules, uno de los personajes trans más interesantes que nos ha dado la cultura pop en mucho tiempo, y además, también tiene un episodio especial de una hora. En este episodio, Jules se abre a hablar con su psicología y cuenta todos los momentos que recuerda de su año, junto su relación con Rue, hablándonos de cómo se siente ser una mujer, cómo se siente ser trans, como se siente que no te entiendan.

Bottoms: because whenever I can I will always recommend bottoms, and not because it is good, on the contrary, it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, but the movie is so aware that it is a bad movie that it tries harder and harder to be so and ends up being an enjoyment in a thousand ways. You either love it or hate it, but at least it's a movie that stays with you and deserves to be told, since teenagers long ago stopped having movies like that, silly, annoying, loud, stupid, like them. I also take this opportunity to recommend the director's other film, which I think is really good, Shiva Baby.

Bottoms: porque siempre que puedo voy a recomendar bottoms, y no porque sea buena, todo lo contrario, es de las películas más malas que he visto, pero la película está tan consiente de que es una mala película que se esfuerza cada vez más en serlo y termina siendo un disfrute de mil maneras. O la amas o la odias, pero por lo menos es una película que se queda contigo y merece ser contada, ya que los adolescentes hace tiempo dejaron de tener películas así, tontas, fastidiosas, ruidosas, estúpidas, cómo ellos. Aprovecho además de recomendar la otra película de la directora, que si me parece realmente buena, Shiva Baby.

Scott Pilgrim (the series): a bonus because it is neither a movie nor half a movie, it is a series (although if you want to see the movie it also works) released by Netflix that works as a reboot, sequel or reinterpretation of the same name, where now more importance is given to the best character: Wallace. Being such a fun series and Wallace being the best of the series, it is perfect to recommend and watch.

Scott Pilgrim (la serie): un bonus porque no es ni película ni medio metraje, es una serie (aunque si quieren ver la película también funciona) que estrenó Netflix que funciona como reboot, secuela o reinterpretación del mismo nombre, dónde ahora se le da más importancia al mejor personaje: Wallace. Siendo una serie tan divertida y Wallace siendo lo mejor de la serie, es perfecta para recomendar y ver.
