Hi,
I wanted to visit the famous Maison Radieuse for years.
This building, which can be seen from many points in Nantes, is the second housing unit designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier. Emerging from the ground between 1953 and 1955, it followed the the Marseilles project and preceded the Berlin one. Inspired by the modular principle and the golden ratio, Le Corbusier developed his construction system based on establishing apartments inside a framework of reinforced concrete posts and beams. A revolutionary principle at that time. He delivered here a building on stilts with a facade featuring balconies and skylights, as well as apartments always sunny.
Deezy, a local hip-hop dancer who recently moved to Concarneau, contacted me during spring for a collaboration. As he suggested to chosse an atypic location, I had the idea of doing it at the Maison Radieuse. We had a blast here, as the building is really unique and the inhabitants are very kind and friendly.
Unfortunately, we couldn't reach the rooftop because it was locked. There's an elementary school on the top of the building so the access is restricted. I'm working on a deal with the City Hall to have authorization to do a photoshooting here this year.
