In a previous post I was talking about homeopathy as an auxiliary of science and I commented on the undesired effect that the continuous consumption of pharmacological medicines can cause.
Years ago I had an interesting experience with a patient and friend who came to my practice looking for a way to lower his white blood count, which remained very high despite the consumption of powerful antibiotics and having already undergone an antibiogram.
This medical field is not my speciality so I assumed that he was looking for a homeopathic alternative for his problem and after reviewing his tests and studies I answered him.
-You need to undergo a drug detoxification.
He looked at me like the addict who has been forbidden to take drugs and asked me.
-What is that?
I explained to him that he had to give up all pharmacological drugs for a period of time because they were affecting his kidneys and therefore his white count was not going down.
He was being given a powerful antibiotic whose maximum period of time was three days and he had already been on it for seven days, undoubtedly a medical failure but I did not want to get into controversy and did not tell him.
He looked at me incredulously and finally answered me.
-Let's try it for a week and see.
I recommended drinking lots of green and purple juices, drinking at least two litres of water, high fibre food, drinking nettle tea, walking for at least 20 minutes a day and not drinking alcohol or smoking.
He left in disbelief but when he had a blood test after a week he noticed that his white blood count had dropped a little and continued to follow my recommendations.
Within a month everything was almost back to normal, which forced him to accept that natural remedies can be very effective, after all the medicines were born out of them.
