Hello, Hivers! @makiyumee here and I am back with another blog! We're near the middle of November and I can say that this month is the busiest compared to the past months because of our class reporting, research, and other school tasks. We're trying to do things faster since our final examination is fast approaching. If I am not mistaken, I think there are only two weeks left which makes this even more complicated because of the incoming school events. But even if me and my classmates were so busy, we still find a small amount of time to relax and forget about our school tasks even for a moment.
My friends and I had just wrapped up our second afternoon class when one of them excitedly mentioned that they had discovered a newly opened café in Medellin. The news spread like wildfire among us, and we immediately decided to check it out after our classes. Anticipation filled the air as we sat through the remaining lectures, our minds drifting to thoughts of the café.
We imagined the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air and the sound of the espresso machine hissing in the background. Conversations about what to order dominated our breaks, each of us picturing the perfect cup of coffee or a delicious slice of cake. We hoped that the prices would be kind to our student budgets, allowing us to indulge without worry. The excitement grew with every passing minute, making it hard to focus on our lessons as we eagerly awaited the end of the school day.
Luckily, that afternoon, our last teacher told us she had an important task to do and would be dismissing us early. The moment we heard this, we couldn't contain our excitement. We quickly gathered our things, the sound of chairs scraping, and books being shoved into bags filling the room. Everyone moved with a sense of urgency, eager to make the most of our unexpected free time.
As we waited outside the classroom, the anticipation was palpable. I turned to my friends, my voice brimming with excitement, and asked what they were planning to buy. They shared my curiosity; none of us had been to Bern's Café before, so we were all eager to see what it had to offer. Our conversation was filled with laughter and guesses about the menu, each of us imagining different treats and drinks.
Once everyone was ready, we set off on foot towards Bern's Café. We had decided to walk to save money for the food, even though the fare was quite steep for such a short ride. The journey was lively, filled with chatter and the occasional burst of laughter as we speculated about the café. The sun was setting, adding to our good mood, and the sense of adventure made every step feel more exciting. The closer we got, the more our anticipation grew, eager to explore this new spot and enjoy a delightful afternoon together.
As we walked, I had to reach for my bag and got out my wallet to check if my money was still enough to buy some food and drinks since I was so hungry and I deserved a treat for doing a great hob in school. Yup, we sometimes need to treat ourselves something good to keep us motivated.
Reaching Bern's Café, I was surprised to find it perched on the second floor, just above Andres Bakery. Climbing the stairs, we were greeted by the inviting aroma of coffee, milk tea, and cooking food, bringing smiles to our faces. The cool, refreshing air inside was a relief after our long walk. We quickly found a table and settled down, eager to order. When we were done ordering, we waited on our tables as the cooks made our food. We talked about our day and not long after that, our orders arrived.
Two of my friends ordered their breakfast meal which was Longanisa and Beef Tapa. I took a taste, and it was delicious at an affordable price. My other friends ordered sodas, coffee just like me and they had Caramel and Salted Caramel while I got Butterscotch.
As I sipped my Butterscotch coffee, I took in my surroundings. The café was pretty and modern, with sleek furniture and stylish decor. It was the perfect spot for coffee lovers who enjoy taking Instagram-worthy photos. The cozy atmosphere made it an inviting place to relax. My friend, noticing my admiration, mentioned that she and her group planned to work on their research paper here. The café wasn't just about good food and drinks—it also offered Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot for meetings and online tasks.
The gentle hum of conversations mixed with the clinking of cups and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee created a welcoming environment. It was easy to see why so many people chose Bern's Café as their go-to place for both work and leisure. The blend of comfort and functionality made it a perfect retreat from our busy schedules.
After chatting and enjoying our food, it was time to head home. The evening was setting in, and we knew we had to catch the bus soon. We didn't linger around the café; instead, we gathered our things and made our way outside. The cool evening breeze greeted us as we stepped out, and we could feel the day's excitement slowly winding down.
We exchanged goodbyes, each hug and wave filled with the warmth of shared moments. Standing outside the building, we kept an eye on the road, waiting for the bus to appear. The streetlights cast a soft glow around us, making the wait a bit more pleasant despite the tiredness creeping in. Finally, the bus arrived, its headlights cutting through the dim light. I boarded, found a seat, and looked back to see my friends waving. As the bus pulled away, I felt a mix of exhaustion and contentment, replaying the day's events in my mind as I headed home.
That would be all for this blog. Thank you so much, I hope you all had fun reading it. I'll see you all on the next one!
