This is in response to an initiative of @ericvancewalton, to make us walk down memory lane and relive those moments long gone, keeping them alive for our future generations.
In a year from now you’ll have a legitimate memoir that you can pass along to future generations of your family. But what I really hope is it provides a valuable glimpse into your inner self.
What advice would you give to future generations of your family?
This is 2024 and I have been mothering for about twenty five years now and I tell you the road has been crooked, the journey tough, the path narrow. So many times, I have come to a juncture where I ask myself, "How on earth am I going to go through this one?... I found I had no clue.... Then I got it! I will just go back to my PRAYER CLOSET!!!
prayer has been a very powerful 'tool' for me.
My whole existence is centred around it because I understood that as a single parent and a mentor, I needed the whole of heaven backing me up to raise my children right. I thought of how my all would be wasted if they were not guided properly, how my whole journey would have been one in futility. This increased my intensity to seek for one help without reservations.
And I did find help in my prayer closet, consistently.
I didn't even know how powerful a 'tool' it was until It translated into small baby steps that walked me through the roughest paths.
So never ever underestimate the Power Of Prayer, it is your only hope in a crazy World. Take this as the most important of them all, take it as a Master key that opens every other door.
I have meditated over the pieces of advice for the future generations of my family, the ones I want to come through as echoes of wisdom from me, their fore-mother.
I have raised my direct lineage to be one with a large heart, so let the baton be passed on to generations coming.
Bear no grudges and forgive all wrongs, all ills.
Mever look the other way, never walk away from humanity to humankind. The World is the way it is today because it simply lacks it.
I have raised them along these lines, for I want desperately to have been able to raise a people with a heartfelt and deeply sincere love for others, a people who would not process thoughts before swinging swiftly into action, to do the right thing, I expect generations to follow suit.
A people who would lend an ever attentive ear to cries of griefs and groans of agony from the common man.
A people who would do 'humanity' without fear, without failing.
I want them to love humanity, that's the point.
Never stop learning, a man 'dies' immediately he stops learning.
Be sure to cater to your emotional, mental and physical health and always maintain balance across all the constituents of life.
Believe in yourself and pursue your dreams. Minus procrastination from all schedules, it is the thief of time.
Life is never a bed of roses, resilience in the face of adversity acts as strength through rough terrains.
If my children turned out right, only then would I have succeeded in leaving my mark on posterity.
They said of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ;
Blessed art thou amongst women.
I want you to prove beyond all reason, that I am a refiner and a definer, that I have raised a 'Masterpiece' , the finest of gentlemen and ladies.
I would love to see that the little time I spent here on this realm, I made posterity proud, I made motherhood proud.
I want you all to be my record success as a mother and as the emblem of posterity.
I want to know that in raising you the way I did, I had accomplished history and through you, many will rise up to call me blessed.
