Digital money—what exactly is it? One definition describes it as an electronic form for maintaining and transferring money. Sounds simple enough, but how is it all working?

If this form of money operates according to its recommended methods, transactions should be highly anonymous and untraceable to the payer or customer.

Thus, cyberpunks would no longer be able to gather personal information from credit card users making online purchases. This would clearly reduce the range of stolen identities that happen daily.

Digital Gold Money is backed by gold stored in safes. If you have this form of money, you can potentially convert it for genuine gold bullion, adding an extra layer of security.

These organizations allow you to send money anywhere in the world as long as you have funds in your account; they are similar to PayPal. Some of the solutions offered by these companies are charged to you at the receiver's end of the transaction.

Decentralized Money Solutions: Similar to Bitcoin, they rely on networks and/or cryptography.

The concept of e-cash grew in tandem with the expansion of the Web. People just don't feel comfortable providing their unique bank card information over the Internet for purchases.

Identity theft is a common occurrence in impoverished situations. No one wants their identity swiped.

As a result, many businesses have genuinely tried to create this kind of payment or monetary system in order to lower the risks associated with online shopping.

Many countries have developed systems for in-house use, such as Hong Kong's Octopus card, which has been successful. This card operates like a debit card, allowing the user to deposit large amounts of money directly into a bank. After that, they can use the card for anything they could want.

Some countries have or are working on systems that allow users to send money with their smart phones. This is fairly similar, in my opinion, to what Chase allows for their customers. Using their phones, their customers can snap a picture of their check, front and back, and then instantly make their down payment.

This helps you get an idea of what electronic money is and exactly how e-commerce is trying to replace it globally. One small post can't fully describe it, but there may be more. Still, I believe you can get a terrific idea.
