The importance of science in relation to the health sector

Science has always been part of human lives, ever since civilization. There are things that have come to stay on earth and also for human benefit, and we have science to thank for that great development.

Science has made technology accessible to both young and old. We are now in a world where you can control several machines in your living room with the help of a remote control. Science has made life easier; we now have cars that don't use keys; once you press the button, you are good to go.

Science created robots to help reduce human strenuous activities, which is quite a good one and well appreciated. Also, science created different machines to assist humans with their daily activities, such as washing machines and dishwashers. Also, the production of machines used in heavy-duty industries.

Science has also helped in monitoring human health through the construction of machines that can see through human systems, both external and internal. Technology is also used in monitoring foods and drinks consumed to know if they're ideal for consumption and to prevent a crisis.

Science also made available other equipment to bring comfort to humans, such as air conditioners, freezers, televisions, generators, and mobile phones. They are all advantages of technology through science. Every day of our lives revolves around technology, and new developments are made at the dawn of a new day.

The only place I can say science has gone too far is through the development or construction of harmful and dangerous machinery such as missiles, guns, and other death equipment. I understand civilization has taken over the world and nations now go to war with one another, and in this process, arms would be needed for defense.

These cause more harm than good and, at times, overrule the good that has been achieved through technology. Nations now purchase heavy machines to destroy other nations they are at war with, taking the Ukraine and Russia war for example. The war seemed unending, and many people lost their lives in the fight.

    Where more science is needed

To me, more science is needed in the health sector, although we have improved machines that are being used in hospitals to make life a bit more comfortable for the sick. But it can never be enough; there are some areas in the health sector where science still needs to improve its technology. All the problems in the health sector cannot be 100% solved, but at least they could be addressed to some extent.

I do watch a program on the TLC channel on DSTV about a doctor who performs bariatric surgery before he operates on his patients himself, but recently I noticed he is no longer the one performing the surgery. All he had to do was sit near one big machine and control it, and then the machine would perform the surgery.

I'm sure that machines aren't the end of it; science should intensify its efforts in the health sector to help change lives and give hope to the hopeless.
