DEMOLISH THE TUNNEL 1

Hello beautiful people. This is an intellectual topic and we would look at it the same way. It is for people who are ready to challenge the status quo and find out if quotes mean what they should or they should be properly examined before you swallow their teaching hook, line, and sinker.

Let's take a minute to understand what we will be talking about. We would do judiciously. Light is a natural agent or force of energy that stimulates sight and make things visible. A goal or desired result which is the extreme part of something, a final part of something especially a period of time, an activity or a story. A tunnel is an artificially created underground passage especially one built through a hill or under a building, road or river.

The phrase "Light at the end of the tunnel" comes from the idea of being in a pitch-black tunnel and suddenly seeing your way out because of light which penetrate at the end of it.

It was much more popularized during challenging times, during a slavery and oppressive period. Seeing the light at the end of a tunnel means you have seen some kind of hope, for the present or for the future after a long time of experiencing difficulty.

Let me tell you a little story.

Nancy and Harrison were invited for a get-together on the first of April.

Nancy was dressed in a beautiful blue short gown with a lacy slit at the left, she had on pump action staccato blue high heel shoes and Harrison was dressed in a complementary blue suit and black Oxford shoes, they both shared a Mr. And Mrs. Rolex wristwatch and wristband.

To save him the stress of driving because the location of the event was a bit far, Harrison contracted his friend Andrew to drive them to the location and promised he could be part of the event, Andrew was set to arrive in a few minutes so Harrison suggested they walked while they awaited his arrival.

While they were out of their estate gate and strolling down the road leisurely, hand in hand engaged in a loving chat, Nancy could see a few people stare at her for a second too long and they usually smiled at her companion. Harrison returned their smiles.

Nancy's eyes caught one man who she knew, he owned a grocery store. She excused herself and went to him and greeted him.

"Na my wife dey call you". The man intoned. He pointed to his wife who was measuring mudus of rice with her hands.

"Come, my dear. You look nice o, you look really really good."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Nancy was all smiles.

"But emm, Make I tell you something. I no say you no notice am, but see your gown don tear, make e no be like say we dey watch you dey go we no tell you wetin we see." she gestured with her face towards Nancy's dress and the slit on the left side.

"Oh, no be tear o, naso the cloth dey, na the style be that," Nancy informed her, she used her hands to display the lacy slit and the stop where the slit started from.

"You no mean am, ah, I think say na tear your cloth tear o. If no be say you show me now, I come dey reason say how fine girl like this go wear tear tear cloth. Well, if you say na the style, tor. You know say no be everybody go talk wetin them see. Abi na everybody you go carry explanation give."

"That's just the style . This style has been around for long." Nancy wanted to make sure she was vindicated. Her smile vanished.

While she was defending herself and choice of cloth, Andrew arrived and Harrison got in the car to wait for her.

"Man of God, how are you?"
"I am good, thanks for coming man. You are a lifesaver." Harrison replied.
"Come off it! You are looking very sharp. You look really really good. This color dey enter eyes o."
"Thanks, man. I appreciate that compliment."

Nancy was tired of defending her dress and ready to go when the man who called her asked her a question.

"No wahala, na wedding una dey go?"
"No, na get together," Nancy replied.

"Oh, okay, I been think say na wedding, at least people no go too notice if you no too waka much like that and if people no too plenty for there." The woman concluded her jab.

Nancy didn't wait, she rushed to the car and informed Harrison that she needed to go back home to change her dress.

Harrison was concerned, just a few moments ago, she was raving about just how wonderful her dress was and how she had saved it for this particular occasion. He asked what the problem was, she told him she just needed to change.

She went back home, scattered her wardrobe looking for another dress but it was all to no end.

Nothing else looked good on her.

To cut the long story short, they ended up not going to the event.

Andrew went with their invitation, ate on their behalf, and even won an award at the get-together. Ever since that day, Nancy has never been able to wear dresses or skirts with slits at the front.
