It's always funny to see what of animal life you walk into in another country. In the Netherlands when you love a bit more outdoorsy if you are lucky you will see a deer walking, but on the daily in the woods you can find some squirrels and small bunnies for sure. I once saw a fox in the woods recently also a beaver in the water. But that is about the max there is to find.
Abroad this is often different where I always have the idea that the more you turn towards the equator, the bigger the spiders get. Not sure if this is true, but no one has told me it was untrue ;)
I guess when you live in Ozzie land or more by a rainforest this will also be different. So I did find it funny to see different creatures passing by just all in a day.
Ow hello there froggo! Yeah I have seen a couple more frogs passing by already here and there, but those ones were always walking over the ground. I don't mind frogs at all because they eat mosquitos. Guess what, there are enough mosquitos for them to grab over here.
But this froggo was glued to the window of my door, which kind of gave it a weird sight looking at his underneith. This gave me a good moment to really see how this guy is built, and I was even to see his heart beat through his chest.
And yeah...he was hanging upside down indeed hahaha
Other passing creatures
Also while walking I ran into this heremite crab on the road even though there was no sea near there. The funny thing always about these crabs is that they really are good walkers, especially when there was some rain.
I remember in my island days I would find these crabs on the hill where I used to live, and that was about 100 meters above sea level. So Im not sure if they really need water or if they just act like slugs but then with cooler houses haha.
And then ofcourse there was this sweetest house dog called 'Coffee'. Even though it is always said to be careful with stray dogs, I'm not always good with that rule. Even the more when this dog is living with people and having the sweetest soul.
This guys came running up every morning greeting for hellos and instantly diving on his back for some belly rubs. You just know then these guys have a sweet soul when they love humans so much.
He also reminded me of other island dogs that I have encountered. Very often these guys were so damn friendly. Especially when they were used to living on the street and they finally find a loving situation, they are so happy and thankfull. Dogs really are the guys with the feelings as it seems. <3
So is it really wild life or really pets? Nehhhh, they aren't. But they are cool animals that you randomly find in different countries which you wouldn't find at home.
