Julley Everyone, I hope you’re doing well, just another adventure and another experience that I wanted to share it with you guys through this post.
Just my first-hand experience about using the ancient himalayan techniques that the himalayan shepherds used in order to fetch water during the season when there is no water all around.
So guys the story begins something like this as here I was somewhere around wondering the magical mountain range beyond Manali and we were climbing the trails and unknown peaks here in this mountain range closer to Lahul and Spiti Valley and Kullu Valley somewhere in between.
And when at the moment we thought we are low on water and we do not have even other drinks to hydrate us so as far as I could see there was no water body but just a dry source of frozen glacier which was not frozen at all but had gravels all around.
As we were wondering this magical land of Himalayas I got to know that I remember from my past expeditions that I have been on and had a word with himalayan Shephards the himalayan Gaddi's.
Who has been native to this place and has lived thousands and thousands of years and their generations go on their or someone who hours the part of these mountains these lands and they kind of stay away from hustle and bustle of life and live their life here in the mountains peacefully I don't think guys they are very seen often but whenever we see them very rarely it is like we should talk to them had a word with them and ask about their State of mind their state of leaving we should help them but they do not require any help rather they will help us in many ways as few ways that I will be talking about in this post.
Just a story from the shepherds I will be talking about as it was time of COVID-19 pandemic when I have been to mountains and I thought instead of sitting there in my home I should rather go to the mountains and live myself peacefully I did not took lot of technology with me just a tent sleeping bag and my food and I pinched my tent closer to that of a Shepherd. And at that moment I told the Shefford that what is his views about the pandemic and he told he had no idea about the pandemic and the COVID-19 as he was living in the mountains I was amazed by hearing this and then that Shefford told me to guess his age and I said it would be around 35 years but he told me that he is 60 years old and I was completely shocked guys he told me he is way of living about consuming fresh food fresh milk and fresh meat and walking and exercising every day by not just extra time exercising intentionally but the nature that made him exercise and his way of living made him exercise by getting his ships in the mountains going back and forth doing Shikaar and hunting.
Just few stories that I remembered from that day he told me about fetching water and in this particular moment I remember that moment when I got to know about this technique that the shepherds used in order to fetch water when the whole region is Dry.
When dehydration was something that stopped us in the middle of our expedition and for the moment we thought let's go somewhere and look for water in this endless nowhere land.
Somewhere in the middle of the mountain I found a train don't know that where that Trail was leading us to but we just followed it as we had no other option during that particular moment just to follow the trail and walk bye and that was something that the the Shepherd told me that usually in these portions it is the water which is sweeping buy the glacier and the melting process of that glacier and there is very high chance that there would be water there.
Without thinking much we just followed the trail and tried our luck just as we toss a coin either head or tail but in this both ways there would be head only as it is coin from Sholay movie. Just giving up respective guys as I was kind of sure we had no other idea no other move rather just to go and try your luck.
So just we were wondering this nowhere land and this magical landscapes the views there was something that kept us going as you guys can anyone see how tiny we were in this majestical mighty magical mountain.
We even found this heart shaped rock that maybe some lover has written his name on as you can see in this photograph may be the lovers from ancient times or from the times of himalayan shepherds who used to guess here and been here in this place.
The Stretch of Fetching water.
Guys after finally getting closer to the portion where what are used to sweep and accommodate and then flow forming various springs and even sort of Canal through which water used to flow down.
We had really high hopes that we will be able to find water here and we finally in a while got closer and closer to that particular portion.
And finally guys we finally made it a success and finally discovered water flowing under these rocks.
I was really very happy and my happiness at that moment can't be counted at the moment but we finally got really very water which was from the frozen ice and let it in this particular portion.
It was just by the sayings of the Shephard that he told me that water is usually at such places in such lands where there is very less hope for and we will be happy finally made it I got water in this endless.
So can you guys at that particular moment we wondered here for a while and capture these magical valleys and the views looked something like.
So guys that's all for today I hope you liked it.
Thanks for your precious time. 🙏
Love from the Himalayas. ❤️
