Not sandwiches or cereal but we eat roti and rice for breakfast here in Bangladesh. Yes, we do eat bread sometimes but we prefer our traditional breakfast. And sometimes we add a lot of different sides that you may not consider as a breakfast.

For example, our traditional cakes, beef curry, etc.

Let me show you some of my breakfast plates while I stayed at my mom's place. It's not just plates for me but love.

Let me shart my all-time favorite, Paratha with fried eggplant. I love the crunchiness of the Paratha made out of flour and the softness of the deep-fried eggplant.

It's a simple meal but full of flavors.

Then my second favorite is the beef curry with rice flour roti. Rice flour rotis and cakes are a little crunchy than wheat flour and I love it.

The other roti on the lower left side is called Chit Pitha, it's also a kind of roti that is made out of rice flour. The spicy beef was adding a nice touch to the whole meal.

The morning meal wouldn't completed without having some bread in a week. My mom made cauliflower Pakora to put inside the bread and made it a vegan sandwich!

The tea is also a little different, she added date jaggery instance of sugar. That enhances the taste, a perfect for the winter morning.

Last but not least, this Mung Dal Cake.

It's one of our traditional cakes/Pitha. It's sweet and soft with a little crunchy on the outer layer. A perfect dessert after a heavy breakfast.

This was made by my elder sister.

We had roti and vegetables like our usual everyday breakfast on most days. But some days were like this, special.

I love the comfort food, the taste of my mom's cooking, the flavor of my hometown, the traditional way of cooking and having our meal; everything about it. And I will miss this the most.
