Banana Combo or Maruya

    Hi fellow Hivers!

I hope all is well today with the grace of our Almighty God.

Maybe most of us if not all of us have this habit of having snacks at home, in the workplace, school, or anywhere else.

We always have some different snacks at home too. I enjoy having snacks these days because I can always have them together with my family since my husband retired from his job as a Police Officer and my daughter @tegoshei finished two degrees in college but decided to work from home.

I really love our situation more now than before. Well, we all love to eat snacks like kakanin or native or local delicacies. We also love bananas. Every time we have some bananas at home, I have fun cooking them in different ways or recipes. Yesterday afternoon, we had "maruya or combo banana” for our snacks.

Maruya or combo is still a kind of banana fritters. You can cook maruya by just slicing the banana or you can also mash it. This was how I cooked my banana combo yesterday.

    Banana Combo or Maruya

    INGREDIENTS:

    • Banana Plantain
    • Evaporated Milk
    • Flour
    • Baking Powder
    • Salt
    • Sugar
    • Egg
    • Canola Oil

    PREPARATION:

    Peel off the banana peelings.
    Slice them into small pieces.
Prepare a bigger bowl and make the batter.
    For the Batter:

Beat an egg in a bowl. Add some milk, a pinch of salt, 2 spoonfuls of white sugar, almond extract, and banana extract. Then, gradually add all-purpose flour and then mix all ingredients until smooth.

Add the sliced banana gradually to the batter and then mix them well. Then, set aside.

    COOKING TIME:

Heat some canola oil in a pan.
Scoop some banana mixture and then carefully slide it into the heated oil. Repeat the same process until you finish all the banana mixtures.

Transfer them to a plate with a paper towel to remove excess oil and let them cool down. Then, transfer them again to another plate and serve it.

You can also sprinkle some white sugar in the banana combo or banana fritter. Ours is without sugar because the banana itself is already sweet.

So, this how my banana combo looks like.

    I hope you like it.

Thank you so much and God bless!!
