It's Champions League week again, and I am excited to see how the matches today will go down. There is a lot of speculation, anticipation, and tension building up between fans as we head into the final leg of the quarter-final stage of the Champions League this season. Who will win the trophy this season I still don't have an idea yet but after this week's matches it will be clear and I will pick the team I believe will win the competition and be crowned Champions Of Europe.
The matches that will take place this evening are FC Barcelona vs. PSG and Dortmund vs. Atletico Madrid. The match that has my interest is FC Barcelona Vs PSG which is no surprise because I am a Barca fan. It all to play for at the Montjuic Stadium this night for the Catalan giant and this match is crucial for Barcelona to reach the semifinals of the competition which has not happened since 2018 when Barcelona were close to winning the UCL trophy if only Dembele had scored that goal and the team didn't let their guard down it would have been a different story.
FC Barcelona left the Parc des Princes last week with a 3-2 victory against PSG. It was an incredible match, and I was impressed with the players for pulling up that win last week. Barcelona has been back on track since Xavi decided he will be leaving at the end of the season, and even when asked if he wins the Champions League, will he stay at Barcelona? Xavi simply said his decision would not change if that happened, and I couldn't blame the man for wanting to leave. The fans did not give him that support, and the media was always on his case.
Xavi to me has nothing to prove to anyone because he has already been incredible since he took the job, winning the league title and Spanish Super in his first full season as Barca manager is a big deal even though many people don't see it that way, but it really is a big deal. Tonight's match will be intense, and there will be a lot of pressure on both teams, but I have faith FC Barcelona will come out if this match tonight with their head held high.
They just have to do what they did in the first leg, which is to keep Mbappe quiet and not give him any room to try anything and also watch out for other players. Lewandoski has to step up today at any cost and make sure to take his chances when it comes, and Raphinha, who was solid in the first leg, should deliver the same performance in tonight's match. It is going to be one hell of a match and I will be seeing you all at the end.
