I wanted to paint a canvas
without brushes or watercolour,
without a motif to think about,
and today the motif is you.
I looked for the appropriate colour
to outline your essence,
your eyes, two golden skies,
your laughter, a beautiful presence.
In the white of the canvas
the winds whisper softly,
and each stroke reveals
the secrets of my feelings.
There is no form that encloses your brightness,
nor shadow to extinguish your dance;
on the canvas, there remains the sparkle
of your spirit, my hope.
I wanted to paint a canvas
without borders, without misgivings;
and today, at last, with every effort,
my reason is only you.
