Ya se viene la celebración del Día Internacional de la Mujer, en la que se honra a todas las féminas no solo por sus logros personales o profesionales, sino por el simple hecho de ser quienes son.
Obviamente, este día tiene un trasfondo un tanto turbio, pues aunque nadie (o muy pocos) las recuerden, la fecha de este homenaje viene dado por un terrible hecho histórico en el cual muchas mujeres fallecieron calcinadas, cuando protestaban por mejores condiciones laborales en una fábrica de Nueva York.
Y es que para las féminas, la lucha por hacerse valer viene desde hace mucho tiempo atrás, logrando escalar paulatinamente én la sociedad, aunque cada vez que superan un obstáculo, parecieran aparecer tres más.
En mi paseo por la estación del tren en Avellaneda, de donde les compartí en días pasados una serie de fotos sobre el origen de su nombre, también me encontré con este otro panorama: un espacio para recordarle al mundo, que más allá de los estándares que se buscan en las mujeres, nosotras también tenemos otros intereses.
Algunos de estos posters hacen incapié en el derecho del aborto, y aunque no pienso polemizar al respecto por mi posición personal de no estar de acuerdo, tomo el mensaje de la última foto como una lucha que va más allá. "El primer terrritorio por el que luchamos es nuestro propio cuerpo" para mi es mucho más contundente, en el sentido de hacer valer que merecemos respeto del todo.
Cuantas veces no hemos sido rozadas indebidamente, o recibido una palmada sin quererlo? Inclusive las niñas son víctimas en muchos casos, sin que eso sea visto como delito.
Lo mismo pasa con los casos de femicidio, las desapariciones no documentadas, el derecho al trabajo con igualdad de condiciones... No son casos en los que se pudiera decir que prepondera una condición social o intelectual, pues la realidad nos afecta por el hecho de ser mujeres.
Estos murales me resultaron fascinantes, pues están ubicados a lo largo de la escalera que va a la salida del andén, y son una metralla al subconsciente, para que salgamos pensando al respecto, no solo el día internacional de la mujer, sino todas las veces que sean necesarias para lograr el cambio.

Some of these posters emphasize the right to abortion, and although I do not intend to debate this due to my personal stance of not agreeing, I take the message of the last photo as a struggle that goes beyond. "The first territory we fight for is our own body" to me is much more powerful, in the sense of asserting that we deserve total respect.
How many times have we been inappropriately touched, or received an unwanted pat on the back? Even girls are victims in many cases, without this being seen as a crime.
The same happens with cases of femicide, undocumented disappearances, the right to work under equal conditions... These are not situations where one could say that social or intellectual status takes precedence, as reality affects us simply because we are women.
These murals fascinated me, as they are located along the staircase leading to the platform exit, and they act as a wake-up call to the subconscious, prompting us to think about it, not only on International Women's Day, but as many times as necessary to bring about change.
