Lifting the Past

Isaac Hill lies on a table in the middle of an operating room. He’s a beefy twelve-year-old, a prime seed for an all-Canadian athlete. He is surrounded by technicians, nurses, and an ancient doctor who goes by Dr.Vaughn Skirnov. He is also known as the Death Maker for being the oldest and most dangerous of the Seven Shadows, infamous scientists that work at the Himalayan base of the Warhammer Corporate research and development facility known as Twilight.

Isaac looks up at the Doctor and smiles.

Isaac Hill - Is this going to hurt?

Dr. Vaugn Skirnov looks down at Isaac as one would a piece of delicious meat before cracking a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes.

    Dr. Vaughn Skirnov - I won’t feel a thing.

Isaac Hill - Ha ha, Doc. Is this going to hurt me?

Dr Vaughn Skirnov - Immensely. We will begin with the IVs.

    Isaac Hill - IVs?

The army of nurses and nurse’s aids begin prepping Isaac for about a dozen IVs on different locations of his body with extra thick needles all at once. Isaac lets out a yelp of pain as all of the needles go into his body at once as the IV tubes are inserted and taped down. Isaac pants a little after they are finished and back away from the table. He smiles at the Doctor.

Isaac Hill - That wasn’t so bad.

Dr. Vaughn Skirnov - That, my boy, is the tip of the iceberg. You will be transformed, but becoming a god does not come without divine levels of pain. This is going to be the longest night of your life…

Isaac Hill - Is it too late to back out now?

Dr. Vaughn Skirnov - It’s amusing to think that you might have had a choice in this. Begin.

Bags of different fluids are hooked up to the IVs and more needles are brought out to be driven into the different bones. Through the night, Isaac screams himself raw until the pain and exhaustion build up that he passes out in the wee hours of the morning.

The next day, Dr Vaughn Skirnov walks into a hospital-like room where Isaac is sleeping. He’s gained several inches in height and he is now looking like a muscle-bound Greek God. The nurse that is checking his vitals as he slumbers looks to the Doctor.

Nurse - He’s stable, Dr. Skirnov. What will we call him now that he has been transformed?

Dr. Vaughn Skirnov - He will become the Tarrasque.

    Present Day

Tarrasque is on a bench press, lifting more weight that any normal human would be able to lift. Doing it with an ease that boggles the mind. Marcus Anderson stands nearby with a towel and a bottle of water for Tarrasque.Marcus

Marcus Anderson - Oh, I didn’t see you there. I’m just getting Tarrasque ready for his match coming up at Sacramento. He will be tagging up with Alexander von Blankenship and Syberus to take on Kilroy Evans, Roscoe Law, and “the Punisher” Dan Stein. Tarrasque doesn’t like Alexander or Syberus, but he is a professional and will work with them to take on a common foe.

Tarrasque does rapid reps with the barbell with the heavy weights rapidly and roaring while he does so. Veins pop out all over his body as he strains himself to lift what could be a small car over his head.

Marcus Anderson - Tarrasque has a history with Kilroy Evans. He also has a history with Roscoe Law. And, if I’m not mistaken, he has a history with Dan Stein. I brought Tarrasque here as he was looking for a challenge in the ring. I think this might be the place for it. These men will fall before my beast. You can see that his strength cannot be measured. His skill in the ring is also such. You will all go down like the fat kid on the seesaw.

The scene fades to black as Tarrasque finishes his work out and is handed a towel.
