Splinterlands: Earning Glint Feels Like A $$$ Reward

in voilk •  5 days ago

The previous Splinterlands season was very successful for me; I earned more SPS because I won more battles. Winning more battles resulted in a higher Glint reward, but I became greedy and attempted to earn more Glint and SPS near the end of the season, dropping to Gold 2 instead of Gold 1.

Prior to the last season, my Glint rewards were always between 35 and 37k, but this season I finished with 46k Glints, which earned me more than 90k when doubled. Despite dropping to silver 2, it was my biggest haul of the year.

Let me say that it has not been easy starting from silver two this season; you have win two matches and lost the next two. Some players are just master strategists, and I should have stopped playing when I reached 44k Glints to finish in Gold 1.

    My SPS & GLINT REWARDS

I am not sure, but I believe I got extremely lucky last season; many of my strategies worked flawlessly, and I was able to defeat numerous opponents with maxed out cards and summoners. Sometimes I simply edged them out with the last card, and sometimes their strategies appeared to backfire.

I thought I would be able to enter diamond 3 for the first time in a long time two to three days before the season ended, but I became overconfident because I had been winning so well.

However, the previous season's final day was the worst. I had one of the worst losing streaks ever, and I kept trying to get back to Gold 1, but I only ended up losing more. It was as if the algorithm knew I had won a lot of games throughout the season and chose to pair me with some of the strongest opponents on the final day of the season.

However, allow me to count my blessings. Getting enough Glint to purchase soulbound cards is satisfying.

I know I have mentioned in the past that Glints are not good enough to earn with real dollar-based assets, but that is probably how I have been able to stack some really good cards with no dollar value.

I do not even want to think about unlocking soulbound cards because I believe it is just an OCD thing for big boys with a lot of DEC to throw around.

    Epic Buys

I made sure to go buy some epic draws, and I got four. The rewards were good. I got an extra shock trooper to finish level 2. Then again, I had another Olivia of the Brook. This means I now have three Olivias, and I only need one to complete level 2 and gain the brilliant mimic ability.

Without that ability, my Olivia is pretty much normal, and in over a month, I have only used her in one battle because you do not expect much at level one.

I also received an extra night reaper. That card has been very reliable for me, and I had underestimated it until I started using it.

The Halfing refugee is arguably one of the most useful epic cards. In ten games, I probably use it six times, and I need one copy to get it to level two and gain the extra melee attack.

    COMMON CARDS

I got approximately 150 common draws. I am not overly excited about common cards because they lack the wow factor at lower levels, but maybe from level 5 to 10, they start to come alive.

Maybe by then I will start discussing some of the extra abilities I have been able to pack into the common cards I have. For the time being, I am still building them, and they are mostly at levels 3 and 4.

    Gladius cases

I decided to buy and open four Gladius cases, which were completely disappointing and nothing out of the ordinary, but I will still post the cards to show you which ones I received.

    In Conclusion

The previous season was good, with the exception of not finishing at my normal level, but I earned an additional 9 to 10k Glint. I hope to carry that same mindset into this season so that I can earn at least 40k glints.

Anything less will be considered a failure by me. Overall, I believe I earned more SPS, which is something I am excited about.

I received an invitation to join a particular Guild, and it is a really top Guild, and I might just earn more SPS, but I do not think I will be leaving my Guild; I just have that sentimental loyalty, even if many of my Guild members rarely report for duty or play their parts anymore.
