In this new series Bro Eli focuses more on who makes a true disciple and knowing the difference between a disciple and an apostles, as we see in
And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
Luke:6:13
From here I understood that there weren't just 12 disciples as but they were many of them and Jesus had to pick out 12 of them and and gave them the ministry of an Apostles and commanded them to go make many other disciples as we see in mathew 28: 19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen, Matthew:28:19-20
For them to be given this mandate it means they must have been taught mentored and Jesus selected them to carry in his ministry, we seen that for any one to be called Disciple he or she must have stayed, followed, practise the teachings of a leader or master,
But then we see that in the lives of the Apostles, they have been with Jesus untill the point of being called an apostle not just a disciple, I guess they have passed that stage and were now able to teach others too, to make them become disciples.
Are we really disciples of Christ?, because from our definition, a disciple is one who follows the teachings of a religious leader, and does what he is taught, but we see that in modern Christianity we just do to church, answer the name Christians but we really do not live like Christ neither do we actually do what we are taught in church. ..
This message is a call to everyone to seat up and run a check on our Christian lives, so that we live it to the glory of GOD.
