Simple and Delicious Homemade Noodle Dumplings or "Pangsit Mie"

    Hello, I am excited to be part of this community. This is my first time to make content and wish me luck :). I realize it's been a bit busy lately. It really seems like there isn't even a little free time to relax. Not like usual. So, it made my body a bit tired and I fell asleep very quickly at night. Hahaha. In recent days, besides writing at Hive, I also have another new activity, cooking. Specifically, cooking for me to sell via online ordering and that is for everyday.

    Actually, my background was no interest in cooking when I was young. My mother likes to cook and is good at cooking. Her cooking is always delicious and she can cook various types of food, from Chinese cuisine, Javanese cuisine. My mother is also good at making various kinds of cakes, from wet cakes to dry cakes. My mother is really skilled in that area. Well, I used to think I wouldn't be able to cook because I thought cooking was difficult and so complicated. Not to mention whether the food tastes good or not if I cook. Do not say cooking delicious food, I imagine I could not even peel onions, it was difficult. I could not just hold a knife to cut. Hahaha. When my mother cooked, I just helped her as long as I could. So, from the start seeing my mother cooked and how complicated it was, I thought I couldn't cook for sure! Maybe I would never be able cook.

    As time went by, I started to be interested in trying to cook because I had friends who could cook at that time. So, I tried it and it turns out I can. Then I tried to cook the dishes my mother usually cooked. I asked for the recipe and ingredients and then cooked it. As a result, my cooking was delicious and not inferior to my mother's. My mother tasted it and it worked, my cooking was delicious she said. That is the first time I cooked “misoa” and I did it. That was the moment that I became interested in cooking! In fact, cooking is so fun and very interesting and the taste is good that is the most important. When my cooking is delicious, I feel a certain pride and satisfaction. Wow! It feels good.

    I usually make noodle dumplings like this to eat for myself or for my husband and children so the toppings are not very complete. but, it's tempting, isn't it?

    Finally, my skill on cooking was more improving and getting better day by day. I cooked so many kinds of food that I could and I felt it was easy, I did it. I thought somehow when I had a future husband and then kids, I had to be able to cook for them. I thought if I became a mother and a wife, I had to cook for them.
    I feel I should be able to use my skills in cooking to be able to help my husband earn money for the family. Apart from that, I also enjoy cooking because I like cooking. Usually I only cook for my family, now I cook for other people who want to order food from me.

    After doing it for a few days, I'm happy and I feel like it's a challenge when I cook whether it's delicious or not. Yes, sometimes the taste is there because I cook it for other people and I sell it, so I really want the people who buy my cooking to like it and suit their taste buds. I think that's the most important thing than just getting money, truly. What I'm concerned about is number one, the taste of the food is perfect and people like it. Every time I sell food to them, when they already tasted it, I will always ask for opinions or review it. Thank God, they match my cooking and are said to be delicious. But there is one thing that is lacking, it is not salty enough. Hahaha, it seems like people here really like the salty taste. So that will be a suggestion for me going forward.

    The main dish I sell is dumpling noodles or it is called "pangsit noodles". This noodle dumpling is a very famous food in my city. In my city, many people sell noodle dumplings. There are noodle dumplings sold at roadside carts, there are also those sold at large Chinese food restaurants. Most of the people in my city love noodles, especially dumpling noodles. So, I thought I chose these noodle dumplings to sell and cooking these noodles has become my habit and my skill. I love eating noodles too, that’s why.

    There's a lot to prepare when it comes to cooking. Moreover, for the ingredients for making noodle dumplings, there are many small things that need to be considered. Not only must the taste of the spices be right, but the texture of the noodles when we cook them and the chicken topping.

    Then what you have to prepare is as follows:

    • Sesame oil
    • lard (you can use it or not, but for a better taste use lard)
    • salt
    • micin / seasoning / mushroom broth
    • pepper
    • salty soy sauce
    • fish sauce

    ingredients :

    • noodles with a round texture and medium size, not too small or too big
    • chicken breast
    • boiled dumplings / "siomay" / "pangsit"
    • leek
    • fried onion
    • watercress
    • cucumber (for pickling)
    • "siomay rebus" boiled dumplings
    • “siomay” / dumpling skin crackers

    How to make noodle dumplings:
    Prepare seasoning ingredients, toppings and bowls / plastic box.

    TOPPINGS :

    • For the topping, boil the chicken breast until tender, then chop it into small pieces. Then slice the garlic into small pieces and add oil and saute the garlic slices in a pan. After that, add the chopped chicken breast and saute until combined with the garlic. Add a little salt, mushroom broth, ground pepper and soy sauce. Stir-fry until it smells good and when ready it can be prepared later and sprinkled on top of the noodles.

    • Slice the spring onion into small pieces.
    • Prepare ready-made fried shallots or you can also make it yourself by slicing the shallots thinly and frying them until dry.

    • As for the pickles, it's very easy to make. Prepare fresh cucumber, peel the skin and remove the seeds. Then cut into small, oval and thin pieces. Put it in a container and add a little salt, sugar and vinegar. Close the container and shake until the cucumber is absorbed and mixed with the vinegar and sugar.

    NOODLES

    • For the noodles, put the noodles in a pot of boiling water for about 5 minutes and wait until they are cooked.

    • Also put the chicken dumplings or "pangsit" in the boiling water until soft and cooked.
    • Ready-made dumplings or if you want to make your own dumpling you can use dumpling skins then fill them with pieces of cooked chicken breast and then just boil them.

    • While waiting for the noodles to cook, we can make a mixture to season the noodles first. Put one teaspoon of sesame oil in a bowl, one teaspoon of lard, half a teaspoon of soy sauce, fish sauce to taste, half a teaspoon of salt, just a little seasoning (mushroom stock), and a little ground pepper. After putting everything together in a bowl, stir and mix until completely mixed or combined.

    After everything is done, take boiled noodles are cooked, remove and drain, then put in a bowl containing the spices. Mix the noodles well with the spices, then it will create a delicious smell.

    After that, you can immediately add the seasoned chopped chicken meat as a topping, then sprinkle with fried onions and small pieces of spring onion. Put the chicken dumplings into a bowl and it's ready. For me, I prepare a plastic box and put the food there to sell.
