Museum "Strana Sovetov" (The Country of Soviets Museum)

    Greetings, my friends.
2 years ago, I took a trip with my daughter and my son-in-law. It was not a simple journey, but a journey into the past, during my childhood. We visited the museum "Strana Sovetov" (The Country of Soviets Museum). I haven't visited historical museums for a long time. It seems to me that I made the last visit to such a museum with my daughter in 2007. It was a Historical museum on Red Square in Moscow. But I couldn't have imagined that I would end up in the museum of my childhood. After visiting this museum, I realized that my friends and I were becoming part of history. My son sometimes jokes that I've seen mammoths alive.

I was visiting my daughter in Moscow and we decided to visit the automobile museum, which is located on the territory of the former Kristall plant. Once it was a very famous factory for producing strong alcoholic beverages. It turned out that the plant's territory was leased to various companies and there is also a large car museum and a museum of the Soviet past. Oh, yes, there is a large flea shop in the basement of the factory. We can say that this store is also a historical museum. I walked between the counters and saw many things from my childhood and youth.

The museum of the Soviet Past is filled mainly with exhibits of radio engineering and optical devices: televisions, radios, tape recorders, cameras, and movie cameras.
All the exhibits can be touched with your hands, which is usually forbidden in museums. There are carpets on the floor of the museum. These are also museum exhibits. In Soviet times, it was not easy to buy such carpets, they were rare in stores.

I liked that a boy walked among these exhibits and looked at all this antiquity with genuine curiosity. I wonder what he was thinking at that moment. I remember what my thoughts were when I looked at household items from a century ago during my childhood in local history museums. Probably the boy thought the same about these old TVs.

By the way, the suitcases! My parents had 2 such suitcases and they were lying under my bed. We went with them to visit my grandmother in Ukraine.

These cameras were a legend in the USSR, especially Zenit. The description of the Zenit AM-2 says that it was produced from 1952 to 2005, for more than 50 years! Lenses for this camera can be bought in our time. I also have them in my arsenal.
As a child, I had a very simple Smena-8M camera. My cousin had a FED camera, but my teacher at school had a Zenit and she let me use it. It was an unforgettable feeling, I still remember the first time I took a shot from this camera.

When I look at such rare exhibits, I always mentally fly back to my childhood. I even remember the smell of the cases of such cameras.

VAZ-2106. Similar museum exhibits still travel on our road, especially in rural areas. But even more is standing and rotting in the garages of the old owners.

A car of the ZAZ brand (Zaporozhets). Such cars have become really rare on our streets. They were produced in Ukraine in the city of Zaporizhia. There is a war going on there now.

In the 80s of the last century, Indian tea "3 elephants" was considered the best tea in the USSR. Currently, you can find similar tea boxes on sale, but this is a fake.

This is a typical setting of a Soviet apartment in the 80s of the last century. But not every apartment had a phone.

In Soviet times, Lenin's portrait was supposed to hang in the offices of the heads of all institutions. Now a portrait of Putin hangs in their place.

My journey has come to an end. But I want to say that such museums began to appear with the intensity of mushrooms after the rain. The USSR disappeared in 1991, but many things from that time are still in the homes of the elderly.
I even have them at home. Life goes on.
