    Life Expectancy

    UK life expectancy has fallen to lowest level in a decade.

    Boys born between 2020 and 2022 can expect to live to 78.6 years, a decrease of 38 weeks compared with the same measure between 2017 and 2019. For girls, the expectancy for the same period was 82.6 years, having also fallen by 23 weeks compared with 2017 and 2019.

    Veena Raleigh, senior fellow at The King’s Fund, said that the UK data was worrying and;

    lays bare the impact that the pandemic has had on life expectancy in the UK.

    A similar trend has been noted in the US where in August 2022, provisional life expectancy estimates for 2021 were released showing Americans had lost nearly three years of life expectancy during 2020 and 2021. In December 2022, the finalized mortality report confirmed these shocking data.

    In 2019, the average lifespan of Americans of all ethnicities was 78.8 years. By the end of 2020, it had dropped to 77.0 years and by the end of 2021, it was 76.4.

    As noted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in its finalized mortality report for 2021;

    From 2020 to 2021, death rates increased for each age group 1 year and over...

    In a recent article Dr Joe Mercola writes that provisional estimates and finalized reports reveal a significant decline in American life expectancy with young adults bearing the brunt of excess deaths.

    He continues that the gender life expectancy gap in the U.S. has reached its widest point since 1996, primarily driven by COVID-19 and the opioid crisis, highlighting systemic issues in health care and societal structures.

    What really stands out is that, contrary to historical trends, the burden of death is now falling disproportionately on young and working-aged Americans, prompting concerns about the underlying causes and the absence of a public health response.

    The financial implications for insurers are profound. The surge in death claims since 2020 reflects the gravest increase since the 1918 influenza pandemic, prompting calls for an early-warning system to safeguard the insured against emerging health threats.

    Dr Mercola goes on to say that this scenario begs a critical examination:

    why has the response from public health officials, who were once at the forefront of the pandemic management, been conspicuously absent in addressing these excess deaths?

    Nonetheless, despite censorship and controversy, there’s a growing call for a thorough investigation into pandemic management, including lockdowns, treatment protocols and vaccine deployment, to understand the root causes of excess deaths.

    Dr Mercola, who has been accorded the title 'misinformation superspreader' by the legacy media, finishes his article by advertising his forthcoming book The Power of Choice in which he argues for a new approach to global health as one that recognizes and addresses the intricate web of factors that contribute to health disparities.

    Now a healthcare system that treats us holistically and is not drug dependent - sounds like misinformation to me!
