Keeping Promises To Our Children. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

When listening to this video, I learnt wonderful lessons. Bro Eli Soriano said that it is better to give people surprised gifts than to make promises that we have to fulfill by force. We are to avoid making promises which we are not very sure of fulfilling. We should not be pushed to make empty promises.

Many people like making promises in order to look good before people. Some do it out of pride. All these are not good. The Word of God is our perfect teacher. It teaches us not to make vows without fulfilling. Making promises which we cannot fulfill is a sin before God.

The words of our mouth should be numbered. Making hasty utterances that might turn out to commit us unwillingly is not good. Let us learn to keep our mouths and our hearts from sinning against God.

When we know that we can give a gift to somebody, let us plan to make a surprised gift to the person. Let us avoid making promises. We should make people happy through the surprise gift that we give to them. When we make promises and then force ourselves to fulfill it outside our will, God will not be happy with us.
