Hello Hivers, today I want to share this quinceañera studio session I did. The girl was quite simple, and the photo session was simple as well, but she was accompanied by her sisters, her mother, and her boyfriend.
Hola Hivers, hoy quiero compartirles esta sesión de estudio de 15 años que realicé en estudio. Esta chica era bastante sencilla y la sesión de fotos también lo fue, pero la acompañaron sus hermanas, su mamá y su novio.
It’s unusual to see the boyfriend of the quinceañera in this type of photo session. I’m not sure if this is standard or if it’s always been this way, and it makes me wonder for two reasons: 1) 15 years old is not very old, and families usually don’t take these relationships seriously, and 2) both the quinceañera and her “boyfriend” often feel very embarrassed because it’s with the family. Regardless of whether it’s one reason, the other, or neither, it’s an unusual situation, but I couldn’t take much advantage of it because they felt very embarrassed in front of the camera.
Es raro ver al novio de la quinceañera en este tipo de sesión de fotos. No estoy seguro si es algo estándar o si siempre ha sido así, y me causa mucha duda por dos razones: 1) 15 años no es mucha edad y las familias no suelen tomarse en serio estas relaciones, y 2) tanto la quinceañera como su "novio" suelen sentirse muy avergonzados porque es con la familia. Independientemente de si es una o la otra, o ninguna, es una situación poco regular, pero tampoco fue algo que pude aprovechar mucho porque sentían mucha vergüenza frente a la cámara.
I look at photos of my daughters from when they were younger and I feel a lot of nostalgia. I think when you’re a teenager, you don’t understand the image your parents have of you, and doing a photo session is something I find important because the body changes a lot and is definitely not the same as we grow older. This photo session is not one of my favorites, but a photo session is a fragment of time frozen, and I hope this girl or her parents will value it in the future.
Veo fotos de mis hijas de cuando eran más pequeñas y me dan mucha nostalgia. Creo que cuando uno es adolescente no comprende la imagen que tienen nuestros padres de nosotros y hacer una sesión de fotos es algo que me parece importante porque el cuerpo cambia mucho y definitivamente no es igual a medida que nos hacemos más adultos. Esta sesión de fotos no es de mis favoritas, pero una sesión de fotos es un fragmento del tiempo detenido y espero que esta chica o sus padres lo valoren en el futuro.
