Hi everyone, I'm Lorentm, a digital artist passionate about bringing unique and vibrant characters to life. This week, I'm participating again in the social media section of Splinterlands, an initiative that I love for the opportunity it gives me to explore and reinterpret fascinating characters. This time, I have decided to work again on the character of "Liocero", but this time in anime style and in his juvenile or brood form.
The Lioceros, as many of you know, are imposing creatures that dominate the harsh tundras of the Pristine Northwest and the taigas filled with majestic pines. In their united herds, these beings stalk their prey, approaching with stealth until, suddenly, the ground trembles under the thunder of their charge. Their powerful horns and jaws are deadly tools that ensure their survival in this unforgiving environment.
In my new work, I wanted to capture the essence of the Liocero at an earlier stage of its life, when it is still a hatchling. I imagined this stylized creature, combining elements of lion and rhinoceros, and gave it an anime touch to highlight its youthful energy and vitality.
The juvenile Liocero I created has a prominent curved horn on his forehead and large expressive green eyes, full of curiosity and life. His mane, flowing in shades of brown and red, brings a sense of movement and warmth. I have drawn him sitting on his hind legs, conveying a sense of quiet strength and nobility. The soft lines and rounded shapes enhance his powerful yet approachable appearance, making this young Liocero both impressive and adorable.
For the background, I opted for soft gradients of blue and yellow, suggesting a sunrise or sunset sky. These colors beautifully complement the warm tones of his fur, creating an atmosphere that is both serene and magical.
I hope you enjoy this interpretation of the juvenile Liocero as much as I enjoyed creating it. Every detail is thought out to pay homage to the majesty of this creature while highlighting its tender and youthful side. See you next week with more art and creativity!

En mi nueva obra, he querido capturar la esencia del Liocero en una etapa más temprana de su vida, cuando aún es una cría. Imaginé a esta criatura estilizada, combinando elementos de león y rinoceronte, y le di un toque de anime para resaltar su energía y vitalidad juvenil.
El Liocero juvenil que he creado tiene un prominente cuerno curvado en la frente y grandes ojos expresivos de color verde, llenos de curiosidad y vida. Su melena, fluida en tonos de marrón y rojo, aporta una sensación de movimiento y calidez. Lo he dibujado sentado sobre sus patas traseras, transmitiendo una sensación de fuerza tranquila y nobleza. Las líneas suaves y las formas redondeadas realzan su apariencia poderosa pero accesible, haciendo que este joven Liocero sea tanto impresionante como adorable.
Para el fondo, opté por gradientes suaves de azul y amarillo, sugiriendo un cielo al amanecer o al atardecer. Estos colores complementan maravillosamente los tonos cálidos de su pelaje, creando una atmósfera que es tanto serena como mágica.

Upon the Pristine Northwest's harsh tundras and amidst the towering pines of its taigas, the mighty lioceroses reign. In tightly knit prides, they stalk their prey. They draw closer, closer still. Then the ground trembles beneath the thunder of their charge as they slam into their quarry with their mighty horns and tear into flesh with their powerful jaws.
En las duras tundras del Prístino Noroeste y entre los imponentes pinos de sus taigas, reinan los poderosos lioceros. En manadas muy unidas, acechan a sus presas. Se acercan, se acercan aún más. Process / Proceso
The process of creating my digital drawing of the youthful Liocero was an exciting and detailed journey. Each step, from the initial sketch to the final touches of shadows and highlights, was essential to bring this character to life in an authentic and vibrant way.
First, I started with the sketch. At this stage, I focused on capturing the overall pose and proportions of the youthful Liocero. I used light, loose strokes to define the basic shape of the body, making sure to highlight his prominent horn, large expressive eyes and flowing mane. Sketching is a crucial phase, as it is where the structure and dynamics of the character are established.
Once I was satisfied with the sketch, I moved on to outlining. Here, I used sharper, cleaner lines to outline the contours of the Liocero. I paid special attention to details, such as the texture of the fur and the curvature of the horn. The outlining gives clarity and definition to the drawing, establishing a solid base for coloring.
The next step was coloring. I decided to use a warm palette for the Liocero's fur, combining shades of brown and red for his mane and an earthy color for his body. The bright green eyes add a striking contrast and capture the youthful, curious essence of the character. The background, with soft gradients of blue and yellow, complements the Liocero's colors and suggests a tranquil, magical atmosphere.
After applying the base colors, I began working on the shadows. This step is essential to add depth and dimension to the drawing. I used soft shadows in areas such as under the mane, around the horn and on the hind legs to highlight the shape and volume of the Liocero. The shadows help create a sense of three-dimensionality and realism.
Finally, I added the shimmers. Glitters are essential to give life and dynamism to the drawing. I applied highlights in key areas, such as the eyes, horn and some parts of the fur, to simulate the reflection of natural light. These small details of brightness make the juvenile Liocero look more alive and highlight his youthful energy.
Each of these steps was done with care and dedication, making sure that every detail contributed to the creation of a vibrant and authentic juvenile Liocero. This process not only allowed me to explore and reinterpret this fascinating character, but also to enjoy the magic of seeing how each layer of work brings more life and depth to the final work.
El proceso de creación de mi dibujo digital del Liocero juvenil fue un viaje apasionante y lleno de detalles. Cada paso, desde el boceto inicial hasta los toques finales de sombras y brillos, fue esencial para dar vida a este personaje de una manera auténtica y vibrante.
Primero, comencé con el boceto. En esta etapa, me enfoqué en capturar la pose y las proporciones generales del Liocero juvenil. Utilicé trazos ligeros y sueltos para definir la forma básica del cuerpo, asegurándome de resaltar su prominente cuerno, sus grandes ojos expresivos y su melena fluida. El boceto es una fase crucial, ya que es donde se establece la estructura y la dinámica del personaje.
Una vez que estuve satisfecha con el boceto, pasé al delineado. Aquí, utilicé líneas más definidas y limpias para perfilar los contornos del Liocero. Presté especial atención a los detalles, como la textura del pelaje y la curvatura del cuerno. El delineado da claridad y definición al dibujo, estableciendo una base sólida para el coloreado.
El siguiente paso fue el coloreado. Decidí utilizar una paleta cálida para el pelaje del Liocero, combinando tonos de marrón y rojo para su melena y un color terroso para su cuerpo. Los ojos verdes brillantes añaden un contraste llamativo y capturan la esencia juvenil y curiosa del personaje. El fondo, con gradientes suaves de azul y amarillo, complementa los colores del Liocero y sugiere un ambiente tranquilo y mágico.
Después de aplicar los colores base, comencé a trabajar en las sombras. Este paso es fundamental para agregar profundidad y dimensión al dibujo. Usé sombras suaves en áreas como debajo de la melena, alrededor del cuerno y en las patas traseras para resaltar la forma y el volumen del Liocero. Las sombras ayudan a crear una sensación de tridimensionalidad y realismo.
Finalmente, añadí los brillos. Los brillos son esenciales para dar vida y dinamismo al dibujo. Apliqué toques de luz en áreas clave, como los ojos, el cuerno y algunas partes del pelaje, para simular la reflexión de la luz natural. Estos pequeños detalles de brillo hacen que el Liocero juvenil se vea más vivo y resaltan su energía juvenil.
Cada uno de estos pasos fue realizado con cuidado y dedicación, asegurándome de que cada detalle contribuyera a la creación de un Liocero juvenil vibrante y auténtico. Este proceso no solo me permitió explorar y reinterpretar a este fascinante personaje, sino también disfrutar de la magia de ver cómo cada capa de trabajo aporta más vida y profundidad a la obra final.
