My Opinion on Remote jobs or On-site jobs

I remember my finishing secondary school and beginning my hunt for jobs. The first job I ever laid my hands on was working for someone who ran a nylon factory. I had this excitement at the initial stage, finally knowing what it was like to leave your house in the morning and go to work. Funny enough, I didn't stay up to a week in that job before quitting.

I did six different kinds of jobs after that one, and the one I stayed at the longest was a job in a hotel; I stayed there up to a year. The rest were a matter of months, and I was done. When I started seeking out jobs, little did I know about online/remote jobs. Even along the line when I began to hear of it, I didn't put in much interest. I got used to the conventional way of leaving your house and going to a physical place to carry out your duties.

Not until I began to come in contact with some people who worked from home and began to see some striking differences and benefits when I compared it with working onsite. Working onsite brought about many limitations for me. One of the things I hated about onsite jobs is that your presence is required even if you are not carrying out any tasks at that moment, which to me is a waste of time.

While being idle, waiting for the closure time before I can leave, all I could think of are a thousand things I could be using my time to accomplish but being unable to do so simply because I am restrained at my place of work. It barely provides you with the chance to do other things, and in most cases you are paid a fixed amount regardless of your input.

But by doing a remote job, each time you spend is being accounted for because every minute of it is used in rendering a service. And the interesting part is that you get paid depending on the value of your service. In some cases that has to do with remote jobs, you even get to be the one to decide how much you are to be paid, although it's not the same in some cases, especially when you are working for a firm or thereabouts.

However, one similarity amongst all of them is that you get paid based on the value of the service you offer or based on the time you spend, which could be hourly, as the case may be. Looking at our present time—the 21st century—it's pretty obvious that new methods of doing things are now evolving. We are presently in the digital age as we know it, and in order to succeed, it's best to go with the trend.

Most remote jobs we know of, if not all, have to do with something related to digital skills. And we know that in our world today, if we are to mention the top 5 high-paying jobs, it's most likely that digital skills will occupy the 5 spots, or at least the first 3. Remote jobs save you the burden of covering a long distance just to report to your place of work. I've had certain job opportunities that walked past me because of the cost of transportation.

But with remote jobs, distance is not a barrier. From any point you are, you can be able to deliver your services to anyone, even as far as overseas. You don't have to secure accommodation over there to work for someone over there. With the help of your device and a good data connection, you are good to go.

I recently started the acquisition of a digital skill, graphic design, and I am hopeful to secure connection through it, not just to people within me or of the same nationality, but also to people beyond.
