Cumplir años el 29 de febrero convierte tu cumpleaños en un acontecimiento súper especial, durante tres años la gente te felicita el 28 de febrero como hace Facebook y otras personas te felicitan el 1 de marzo que es el día que me gusta celebrar mi cumpleaños durante esos tres años. Pero cuando llega el año bisiesto, toda la gente que te conoce se acuerda de ti y te felicita el día exacto en que naciste.
Esta es mi experiencia año tras año. La verdad es que cada cuatro años me gusta celebrar mi cumpleaños de una manera especial, siempre con mis seres queridos, hace 4 años en 2020 me visitó mi madre y pasamos ese día en la playa y fue una celebración muy bonita. Este año también quería hacer algo especial pero solo con mi marido y mis hijos que son mi familia más cercana.
Having your birthday on February 29th turns your birthday into a super special event, for three years people congratulate you on February 28th like Facebook does and other people congratulate you on March 1st which is the day I like to celebrate my birthday during those three years. But when leap year comes, all the people who know you remember you and congratulate you on the exact day you were born.
This is my experience year after year. The truth is that every four years I like to celebrate my birthday in a special way, always with my loved ones, 4 years ago in 2020 my mother visited me and we spent that day at the beach and it was a very nice celebration. This year I also wanted to do something special but only with my husband and my children who are my closest family.
Como no pudimos viajar a ningún lado para celebrar, decidimos salir a comer y pasar una linda tarde en el centro comercial. Nos fuimos a las 5 de la tarde pero todavía no teníamos hambre como para ir directamente al local escogido para la celebración, pero tampoco estábamos tan llenos como para no querer unos ricos helados de paleta que nos encantan comer cada vez que visitamos ese centro comercial.
Aunque hay muchos sabores para escoger mis favoritas son las que se llaman choco crema que es un helado de mantecado cubierto de chocolate, son sumamente deliciosas 😋, esta vez todas escogimos el mismo sabor. Cuando quise tomar la foto con nuestro helado mientras caminábamos por los pasillos del centro comercial, mis hijos ya se lo habían comido, así que solo la tomé con mi esposo. Como podéis ver mi helado estaba casi congelado 🥶.
Since we couldn’t travel anywhere to celebrate, we decided to go out to eat and spend a nice afternoon at the mall. We left at 5 pm but we still weren’t hungry enough to go straight to the place chosen for the celebration, but we weren’t so full that we didn’t want some delicious popsicles that we love to eat every time we visit that mall.
Although there are many flavors to choose from my favorites are the ones called choco crema which is a chocolate covered butter cream ice cream, they are extremely delicious 😋, this time we all chose the same flavor. When I wanted to take the picture with our ice cream while we were walking through the aisles of the mall, my kids had already eaten it, so I just took it with my husband. As you can see my ice cream was almost frozen 🥶.
Teníamos muchas ganas de visitar un restaurante de sushi relativamente nuevo llamado Chef Margaro, como era un día especial y no es una comida a la que estemos acostumbrados y que compremos muy a menudo, pensé que mi cumpleaños era una excelente ocasión para visitar este lugar por primera vez, así que llegamos sin saber que pedir. El servicio fue increíble al igual que la comida, el chico que nos atendió fue muy atento y nos hizo recomendaciones que seguimos.
Mientras comíamos nos reímos mucho hablando de la comida y de otras cosas, me encantó celebrar mi cumpleaños en este lugar con mi familia, la pasamos muy bien, estábamos muy animados y se notaba que estábamos felices.
We really wanted to visit a relatively new sushi restaurant called Chef Margaro, as it was a special day and it is not a food we are used to and buy very often, I thought that my birthday was an excellent occasion to visit this place for the first time, so we arrived not knowing what to order. The service was amazing as was the food, the guy who served us was very attentive and made recommendations which we followed.
While we were eating we laughed a lot talking about the food and other things, I loved celebrating my birthday in this place with my family, we had a great time, we were very animated and you could tell we were happy.
Antes de llegar a casa pasamos por casa de una de las representantes de mi colegio que me había regalado una pequeña torta para cantar cumpleaños, sí era una torta pequeña de esas que se trocean en cuatro partes y ya está. Pero la verdad es que no necesitaba nada más porque somos cuatro personas. Cantamos cumpleaños y aunque en el camino decíamos que no íbamos a poder comer más porque estábamos muy llenos, cuando vimos esa torta de chocolate con dulce de leche (arequipe) y maní no pudimos negarnos a la tentación y terminamos comiendo torta.
Solo puedo agradecer a Dios por permitirme compartir mi cumpleaños con las personas que amo y que me aman de verdad, me siento feliz de haber recibido mis cuatro décadas y sentirme amada y apreciada por las personas que me rodean. No podría pedir nada más 😍.
Before arriving home we went to the house of one of the representatives of my school who had given me a small cake to sing birthday, yes it was a small cake of those that are cut into four parts and that’s it. But the truth is that I didn’t need anything else because we are four people. We sang birthday and although on the way we said that we were not going to be able to eat more because we were very full, when we saw that chocolate cake with dulce de leche (arequipe) and peanuts we could not refuse the temptation and we ended up eating cake.
I can only thank God for allowing me to share my birthday with the people I love and who truly love me, I feel happy to have received my four decades and feel loved and appreciated by the people around me. I couldn’t ask for anything more 😍.
