    Hello everyone

I had been staying at my sister’s house for about a month, helping her decorate the café until it was nearly complete. But after all that time, I started missing home—my husband, my son, and, of course, my two cats. So, I decided to surprise them by returning home without telling anyone.

It wasn’t easy to keep it a secret, though, because my husband and I talk on the phone every day. As I traveled hundreds of kilometers, he kept calling me multiple times, but I didn’t pick up. Eventually, I answered and told him I was on my way home. He was overjoyed, completely unaware that I had planned to return so soon!

The journey from Tak to Phuket takes two days, so I had to stop and rest midway. That’s when my friends pulled a surprise on me! They had already booked a riverside stay and told me to drive straight there instead of stopping elsewhere.

We had been planning a camping trip together for ages, but I was always the one backing out at the last minute. This time, they made sure I had no choice but to join them—and honestly, I couldn’t have been happier! ⛺🚗✨

When I arrived at the accommodation, my friends had already booked a cozy little hut just for me. The place was a bit far from the city, but it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful—just the kind of retreat I needed.

This charming stay was called "Tid-Jai Homestay," a collection of small bamboo cottages nestled right by a stream. The atmosphere was incredibly serene, and to make it even more magical, there was a light drizzle that day, adding to the tranquil vibe of the place. It was the perfect setting to unwind and reconnect with nature. 🌿🏡✨

After settling in and placing my overnight essentials inside the hut, I took a moment to explore my little retreat. The hut was small yet cozy, featuring a tiny balcony perfect for relaxing, along with a compact bedroom equipped with a mattress, blanket, pillows, and a mosquito net.

There were three small windows that let in the fresh air, making the space feel even more inviting. Each hut was designed to accommodate two people, but since I was staying alone, I had the entire place to myself. Meanwhile, my friends stayed in the neighboring hut just next door. It felt like the perfect setup for a peaceful night close to nature. 🌿🏡✨

After unpacking and exploring my hut, we sat together, enjoying some drinks and chatting. As we relaxed, a local cat strolled over and, without hesitation, climbed onto my lap.

Being a cat lover, I didn’t mind at all and let it stay there. It seemed to love the warmth, curling up comfortably and closing its eyes in pure contentment. I quickly realized that the cats here weren’t picky eaters—they eagerly accepted any food offered by visitors. Since they were likely strays without a regular food source, they had learned to eat whatever was available.

I felt a pang of guilt for not bringing any cat food or treats with me. Next time, I’ll be sure to pack some so I can properly spoil these little wanderers. 🐱💛✨

Our huts were situated right by the river, offering an incredible view and a truly immersive nature experience. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the surrounding landscape was breathtaking. However, this kind of serenity came with a small trade-off—unreliable phone signal and internet.**

At times, the connection was so weak that it was completely unusable, especially on rainy days. If we needed a stable signal, we had to walk over to the small shop nearby, where reception was slightly better. But honestly, being disconnected for a while wasn’t such a bad thing—it allowed us to fully embrace the beauty of the moment.

The gentle flow of the river had a calming effect on me, making me feel completely at ease. Since it was a weekday and the rain had been falling for several days, there weren’t many guests staying at the homestay.

But honestly, I loved it that way. The peacefulness, the sound of flowing water, and the cool, fresh air created the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Sometimes, solitude in nature is the best kind of escape. 🌿🌊✨

As the evening approached, the sky turned a soft shade of orange, reflecting beautifully on the water’s surface. I sat by the river for a while, simply enjoying the moment, listening to the rustling leaves and distant chirping of birds.

This unplanned stop turned out to be one of the most refreshing experiences I’ve had in a long time. It reminded me of how sometimes the best adventures aren’t the ones we meticulously plan, but the ones that happen unexpectedly.

With a heart full of gratitude, I knew that this was a place I’d love to return to someday. But for now, it was time to rest and get ready for the journey home—feeling recharged, inspired, and at peace. 🌿✨
