Cooking is one of the thing I love to do apart from writing, so when I saw the prompt topic for day by @leo.tasks I thought to myself, what other dish could beat the famous jollof rice and salad. Since it’s vegan Tuesday, we are doing our dishes without any meat or fish. Let’s dive in.
Today, I’ll show you how to prepare the Nigerian version of salad and fried plantain which goes along with mostly jollof rice.
To prepare the Nigeria salad, here are the ingredients you needs
- Carrot
- green pea 🫛
- cucumber
- sweet corn
- cabbage
- mayonnaise
What you would do is dice all this fruits into a small portion that would all fit into a tablespoon when they are to be eaten.
Actually, the pepper and the onion are for the rice 😂
After you have dice them all, you put it all into a bowl and mix then all up.
After mixing them up, you put them into smaller plates then add your mayonnaise.
After adding the mayonnaise, you stair very well until you have a creamy looking salad.
I didn’t take picture of the rice process but here is the rice when it’s still on fire.
For the plantain, it’s very easy to make. You slice your plantain into any shape you want, put them into to a bowl, add little salt then fly in a not too hot oil.
After you are done, then your food is ready to be served.
