Hey, Hive Open Mic fam! This is my entry for Week 210, and the theme is "Renacer del Fuego" - the rebirth of fire. This week, I covered Little Me by Little Mix.
From the first moment I heard Little Mix's music, it was like finding solace in the voices of my elder sisters. Their songs became my sanctuary during tough times, guiding me through the darkest nights and lifting me up when I felt like I couldn't go on.
So why "Little Me" for my entry? Well, these past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of growth for me. I've been shedding my people-pleasing skin, and let me tell you, it hasn't been easy. It started with a wave of losses – losing friends because I dared to speak up, to set boundaries, to prioritize my own well-being over their expectations.But you know what? It was worth it. Because through those painful moments, I found my voice. I found the courage to say no, to stand up for myself, to embrace my worth without compromise.
And now, I feel lighter, happier, more alive than ever before.The theme of "Renacer del Fuego" couldn't be more fitting. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I'm emerging stronger, braver, more authentically myself. And "Little Me" is my anthem to the past version of myself – a reminder that she was always strong, always beautiful, always worthy of love and respect, even when she couldn't see it herself.
