Walking through the Cathedral

My journey through Caracas continues at an accelerated pace, because while I am in this city I take every moment to visit those places that I did not have the opportunity to visit when I lived here, this is how I stumbled upon a metropolitan cathedral that welcomed me with open doors, which is incredible, since this is undoubtedly one of the most important temples in the center of the Venezuelan capital.

Mi travesía por Caracas continúa a paso acelerado, ya que mientras me encuentro en esta ciudad aprovecho cada instante para visitar aquellos sitios que no tuve la oportunidad de recorrer cuando vivía acá, es de esta forma como me tropecé con una catedral metropolitana que me recibía con las puertas abiertas, lo cual increíble, puesto que sin duda alguna este es uno de los templos más importantes del centro de la capital venezolana.

In this enclosure have happened things of great importance from the point of view, political, cultural and religious, with its more than 300 years of history the Cathedral of Caracas has been a witness par excellence of the most important events of our republican history, on its structure and many anecdotes and stories to tell, but this time I came with the greatest tranquility to walk through spaces and to feel in the flesh the great energy that emanates from there.

En este recinto han ocurrido cosas de gran importancia desde el punto de vista, político, cultural y religioso, con sus más de 300 años de historia la Catedral de Caracas ha sido testigo por excelencia de los acontecimientos más importantes de nuestra historia republicana, sobre su estructura y muchas anécdotas e historias que contar, pero en esta ocasión vine con la mayor tranquilidad a recorrer espacios y poder sentir en carne propia la gran energía que de allí emana.

At first, I thought it was a rather simple church, but in reality I found myself inside a temple of grandiose characteristics, which gives us imposing arches, large columns, several naves and multiple chapels that together become a solemn and very imposing space, where you can not only feel the true vibe of faith, but we also find very present the earthly power that the church holds.

En un primer momento, pensé que se trataba de una iglesia bastante sencilla, pero en realidad me descubrí dentro de un templo de características grandiosas, el cual nos regala imponentes arcos, grandes columnas, diversas naves y múltiples capillas que en su conjunto se convierten en un espacio solemne y muy imponente, en donde no solo se puede sentir la verdadera vibra de la fe, sino que también encontramos muy presente el poder terrenal que ostenta la iglesia.

In general terms, churches have always been places that have attracted my attention, due to their interesting architecture, their great artistic contributions and at the same time the tranquility that is lived in them, since they are places that invite us to pray and reflect, but particularly that encourage us to look inside our spirit to recognize that we are only a tiny part in a very large universe, which invites us to be more humble and at the same time make better people.

En términos generales las iglesias siempre han sido recintos que me han llamado mucho la atención, debido a su interesante arquitectura, sus grandes aportes artísticos y al mismo tiempo la tranquilidad que en ella se vive, puesto que son recintos que nos invitan a orar y reflexionar, pero particularmente que nos impulsan a mirar dentro de nuestro espíritu para así reconocer que solo somos una minúscula parte dentro de un universo muy grande, lo cual Nos invita a ser más Humildes y al mismo tiempo hacer mejores personas.

To walk inside a church is to walk through an immense world, it is to go from one side to the other admiring every detail of an architecture that is characterized by being beautiful and elegant, besides they are spaces that are full of details, which should be admired with tranquility and devotion, so that in this way we can find that serenity and that feeling of reconciliation that sometimes we need so much.

Caminar dentro de una iglesia es recorrer un mundo inmenso, es ir de un lado a otro admirando cada detalle de una arquitectura que se caracteriza por ser hermosa y elegante, además son espacios que están repletos de detalles, los cuales deben ser admirados con tranquilidad y devoción, para que de esta manera podamos encontrar esa serenidad y ese sentimiento de reconciliación que a veces tanto nos hace falta.

Without realizing I achieved my daily quota of steps inside the cathedral of Caracas, this is how I say goodbye pleased from an incredibly beautiful and spiritually very strong place, I hope before returning to my Andean lands to return to this temple or perhaps meet some others, so I can continue recharging my spirit and at the same time enjoying the most of my tour of a city that really impressive.

Sin darme cuenta logré mi cuota diaria de pasos dentro de la catedral de Caracas, es así como me despido complacido desde un lugar increíblemente bello y espiritualmente muy fuerte, espero antes de regresar a mis tierras andinas poder volver a este templo o quizás conocer algunos otros, para así poder seguir recargando mi espíritu y al mismo tiempo disfrutando el máximo de Mi recorrido por una ciudad que realmente impresionante.
