Crocheting A Stylish Bralette From Leftover Yarn

Hello everyone, in my previous post I spoke about how I wanted to make use of the rest of my leftover yarns. I have a big bag of leftover yarns and I’ve really planned what to make out of them. I’m sure most of you already know I’m an Environmentalist and I take pride in reducing waste so I’m going to make sure I use all the leftover yarns for something either for myself or friends. In today’s project, I’m going to show you how I made this stylish bralette from some black leftover yarn. Since there’s this heat wave, I just know this bralette will come in handy when I’m going to the beach. I used 3 hours to make this and it was worth it.

    The materials I used were:
    • 1.60mm crochet hook
    • 50g leftover yarn

    Procedure

I started by making the bra cups. I know this isn’t like the normal bra cups you’ve been seeing but trust me this is even easier.
I used single crochet for the cups. I started by making 13 chains and then started making single crochets till the end of the row and just like how bralettes are made, I made three single crochets into the last stitch and then continued single crocheting. When I reached the last stitch of that row too, I single crocheted backwards and at the end of that row, made three single crochets in that stitch which happened to be on top of the triplets single crochets I had already made. I repeated this back and forth till I made a cup that was my size. So in all, it’s as if you’re going in a semi circle.

I now made the design around the cup by making 5 double crochets in a stitch, slip stitched in the next stitch and made another 5 double crochets in the next stitch. I repeated this until I finished the design.
When I finished, I just attached yarn to the top of the bra cup and crocheted the strap. I duplicated this for the other bra cup.

I now joined the bra cups together and made the center gore a little thicker. I then crocheted a long chain to join the other ends of the bra cups. I now double crocheted three rows on that chain and started the design.
For the design which was the simplest part, I made 6 chains and slipped stitched in the 7th stitch till I got to the end of the row. I now turned my work back and double crocheted on the chains to give it a solid look since the chains made it look like a skeleton. I just made two rows and I was done.

Afterwards I needed to make something to close the bralette so I just attached yarn and chained about 30 chains to the sides of the bralette so it can be tied at the back.

    The result.

I love how it turned out and I hope you do too.
    Thank you for your time.
