The Lone Find

    TGIF?

Nah! I thank God no matter what day it is and I'm not particularly waiting for the weekend or Friday nights, lol!

Joke aside, I hope your day (night) is treating you all well.

We found a lone mushroom up on the hilly side of the farms the other day. It was growing in between a cracked soil, almost hidden that it is easy to miss. Some weeds were sprouting around.

We were not hunting for any but this got our attention anyway. To my surprise, after taking this shot, the husband uprooted it and placed it on the ground with its beautiful yellow-whitish underside and stem facing almost upward.

The intricate patterns of the gills (not sure if that's what they are called) are fascinating to look at. Nature's artwork at its finest, yeah?

The fungi became our subject for a little photoshoot, placing it wherever and taking a few snaps. We were chuffed when suddenly the setting sun brightened up the space and we noticed the shadows of the tiny dried weeds on it.

We played some more, putting it close to green weeds, making sure their shadows were on its cap.

The hubby then dared me to hold it to feel its texture. While I swore not to touch any mushrooms especially when I had no idea whether they were edible, the husband played his tricks on me and the fungi landed on my hand, lol!

So, guess what? It was safe after all. I didn't have any skin rash whatsoever (something I've been imagining to have when I touch one of them). Well, at least this type looked harmless and it was😅

The cap was hard, it's not easy to break when touched.

Wanting to know its name, I checked with Google Lens but it identifies it differently each time I scan the fungi's picture. It said Tricoloma Fulvum first, then Cortinarius Rigens afterward, Gymnopulus Luteofolius, etc. I think GL was confused too, lol!

Anyway, we left it up there after the photo op. There you go with my contribution to FungiFriday by ewkaw. Thank you for this initiative and space where we get to share our mushroom finds.

Cheers and until next time! Have a glorious Friday, frens!
