Sad news: I will never enjoy my Philippine Goods here in France

in voilk •  3 months ago

I was busy the past few days asking for updates from my sister as I was asking her to process my documents in the Philippines. Together with the papers, she also needs to send me some goods from the Philippines. In 2021, she successfully sent the documents and the Philippine products I've been craving for after three days, fresh from Cebu. I received and enjoyed these goodies all by myself.

2024, my Philippine goods are rejected

Too bad I wasn't informed but all the food cravings I asked my sister to buy for me, won't be enjoyed by me anymore.

    • Cebu Dried Mangoes
    • Carcar Mat-Mat Chicharon
    • Lucky Me Pancit Canton
    • Pork Hopia from La Fortuna
    • Goldilocks Polvoron
    • Tableya

My food cravings are unhealthy by French standards but sometimes I can't help it. Since I don't have easy access here in the countryside it is not every day I would eat it. I will only ask my sister to send this for me only once in a blue moon. Only when I ask her to process the papers for me.

I cried when the international delivery company told my sister that the Philippine goods were rejected as the customs in a European country are very strict right now.

So, I did a little research

    I am disappointed, I cried

The products I've been looking for are very particular. I just want to enjoy eating the food that is bought in Cebu, Philippines. Sending a document to France is really expensive, I just wanted to take advantage of receiving Filipino goods after three days here in France.

I was really excited but this excitement has now turned to sadness. I am not living in a city where I could have access to different Asian staples, especially Filipino food.

Maybe you would call me shallow for crying but I've been waiting for this, saving my money just to buy something from the Philippines. Sigh.

Philippine Cebu Dried Mangoes are Rejected?

The brand I chose for Cebu Dried Mangoes had been an export quality before I was intro traveling. When I started to travel, I always brought some packets with me to bring to my host or shared them with other travelers. Cebu Dried Mangoes were even popular in Taiwan during my first visit. Taiwanese were like, "You're from Cebu, dried mangoes?"

To be honest, Cebu or the Philippines has the best mangoes in the world. I just wished that the fruit mangoes in Cebu or Guimaras would be here in Europe in the future.

    I am truly devastated

I told my husband about the sad news of not receiving the Philippine goods that I've been craving. He asked me what I wanted for dinner. I just told him, "I want LECHON."

Lechon Baboy or Roasted Pig, of course, it's very difficult for my wish to be granted here in France. So, what he did, he just bought me some Japanese gyoza and Japanese sushi to ease my sadness.
