    Hello my little booze-monkeys! I hope your weekend is a bubbling away nicely.

    I see #beersaturday is waiting at the bar. He looks excited…? I wonder why? Oh yes, of course, it’s a UFC Beersaturday!!! Wahooooo!!!

    UFC 314 - A fight card from the gods

    If ever there was a night to introduce someone to the UFC, tonight is that night. UFC 314 has a fight card stacked with monsters & gunslingers, each one of them, itching to serve up some “holy shit” moments. It’s going to be a great night of fighting, and beersaturday!

    It would be great to see Volkanovski get his belt back. He was a great champ and always gives the crowd a great show (no wonder his fighting name is Alexander “the great” Volkanovski).

    As for the co-main event, it’s one of those fights where I don’t want either to lose. Chandler is as entertaining a fighter you could ask for, a buzz-saw of a man. He’s getting towards the end of his career now but I think he’s got another great fight left in him.

    As for Paddy the baddy, well, he’s English for a start. He’s also a class act, some would say the full package. A good striker. A bad-ass grappler. He’s young, slightly annoying, and very cocky. All the hallmarks of a great champ. I do have my suspicions about his chin, but only because he leaves it hanging out for anyone to hit.

    The other fighters all fit the bill and I’m especially looking forward to seeing Rodriguez fight again. Nobody is more unpredictable than Rodriguez and the guy he’s fighting is a renowned champ from another organisation, so this has the potential to be an absolute banger.

    My picks for the night are as followed;

    Volkanovski - decision win
    Paddy Pimblet - R2 submission
    Rodriguez - KO R2
    Pratez - decision win
    Reyes - KO R3

    Unfortunately for me, I live in the UK, which means I’ll be watching the fight at 3am if I want to watch it live. Now, I can’t see myself cracking open a tinny at 3 o’clock in the morning, but there’s nothing stopping me from celebrating early.

    For two of my favourite fighters I saw fit to purchase 2 of my favourite styles of beer, a dessert stout and a double NEIPA.

    What can go wrong with cherry and chocolate stout? Nothing at all. A beautifully sticky and decadent stout, nice and strong so it’s packs a good punch too. Pretty sure this one will pass the chocolate biscuit test.

    Turning a full 180-degrees, the next beer is a New England IPA, a double NEIPA to be precise. I absolutely love a strong NEIPA so the title of “double NEIPA” gets my mouth watering. I’ll be starting the night with this one and at 8% it’s looks to be a fast start.

    Both beers are top quality and I can’t wait for Bruce Buffer to announce “ITS TIME!” This is going to be one of those great #beersaturdays. I hope yours is too!!
