Hey lovelies ❤️
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese 😍
Welcome to my blog 🤗
As we start 2025, this is a good time to look back at 2024 - a year characterized with lots of amazing memories and experiences in my fashion business. It is a year filled with great achievements, and of course challenges.
To start with, I must admit that 2024 was a year my business experienced growth and sales that i havent recorded since i started the business. I was privileged to work on individual projects and company projects (that is, creating a design for more than one person at a time). These projects gave the opportunity to try new things with fabrics and also learn new techniques and styles. At the start of 2024, I took online courses on the techniques that i haven't mastered and it was worth it at the end of the day.
In addition, in the year 2024 i collaborated with some other fashion designers - they are my friends whom we share similar goals. Our coming together to collaborate made us share ideas which in turn increased our creativity and growth of our business as a whole. These collaborations are very useful because you have someone to discuss with for ideas when you do not know how to proceed with a particular task. In other words, im grateful for a 2024 where my collaborations enabled me to learn and try new innovations in the industry.
Moving forward, there were quite some challenges that i faced during the year 2024 and some of them were a test of my tolerance, and self discipline. For instance, there are some customers that have urgent needs who pose unrealistic deadlines that cannot be met. Such as wanting their dresses to be ready within some hours or 1-2 days. Perhaps, they do not understand the time and concentration that is need in order to deliver a good piece. It is often impossible to deliver the best output in a industry such as fashion industry when you rush the process. I tried to let every customer know a realistic deadline that there pieces will be ready to avoid disappointment.
One other challenge that i encountered about two or three times is that even when i put all my best in offering a topnotch service there are still some customers that are not satisfied. This may be because they have a particular vision in their mind which could not easily be replicated even though it is close to being perfect.
This is a great leason for me that every client have their personal taste and preference and it must be respected to the fullest. There was a case of a lady that i made a dress for who wanted a revealing cleavage (she didn't state this specification when she came). She complained bitterly when she came in for fittings but unfortunately it could not be fixed.
Images attached to the post are some of the dresss i made in 2024.
