Greetings to the entire Holozing and Hive community! 😃

Today I want to share with you a new illustration I have made. This time I wanted to make a new version of the character Grass Racoon, which as you know is one of my favorites. No matter how many times I draw him, I always have a great time doing it. I really want to dedicate some time to drawing again, it has a therapeutic effect on me, that's why I want to get back to this habit and make it part of my routine again. For this drawing I decided to continue using the same technique and style of my previous drawing, doing something more free, without focusing too much on the details and looking for a more traditional finish so to speak. I hope you like this version and without further ado, I leave you with my process!

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una nueva ilustración que he realizado. En está ocasión quise realizar una nueva versión del personaje Grass Racoon, que como ya sabrán es uno de mis favoritos. No importa cuantas veces lo dibujé, siempre la paso muy bien haciéndolo. Realmente volver a dedicarle tiempo al dibujo me ha hecho sentir mejor, tiene un efecto terapéutico en mi, por eso quiero volver a retomar este habito y hacerlo parte de mi rutina otra vez. Para este dibujo decidí seguir utilizando la misma técnica y estilo de mi dibujo anterior, haciendo algo mas libre, sin enfocarme demasiado en los detalles y buscando un acabado mas tradicional por así decirlo. ¡Espero que les guste esta versión y sin mas, los dejo con mi proceso!

Creative Process | Proceso Creativo📘✏️

Paso 1:

I started my process making a free sketch, using simple shapes to give shape to the character. My idea was to make Grass Racoon, in a somewhat serious pose, so I decided to draw him with his arms crossed, with the attitude of an interesting person. To simplify the process I opted for the chibi style and from this idea I was putting together the composition. With a pencil textured brush I made the lineart, cleaning the lines a little bit without thinking too much in the details.

Comencé mi proceso haciendo un boceto libre, utilizando formas sencillas para darle forma al personaje. Mi idea era realizar a Grass Racoon, en una pose algo sería, así que decidí dibujarlo con los brazos cruzados, con la actitud de una persona interesante. Para simplificar el proceso opte por el estilo chibi y a partir de esta idea fui armando la composición. Con un pincel con textura de lápiz hice el lineart, limpiando un poco las líneas sin pensar demasiado en los detalles.

Paso 2:

Apply the base colors on the character, using less saturated tones than those of the original reference.

Aplique los colores base en el personaje, usando tonos menos saturados que los de la referencia original.

Paso 3:

The next step was to work on the shadows of the character. I made use of the lasso to select the areas with shadows, this allowed me to do it more efficiently and I was able to save a lot of time in the process. Then I softened the shadows a bit for a better transition and as a final detail I added some blush to the character to make it look more adorable.

El siguiente paso fue trabajar en las sombras del personaje. Hice uso del lazo para seleccionar las áreas con sombras, esto me permitió hacerlo de manera más eficiente y pude ahorrar alfo de tiempo en el proceso. Luego las sombras las suavicé un poco para una mejor transición y como detalle final agregue algo de rubor al personaje para que luciera mas adorable.

Paso 4:

To finish, I added some illuminations to the character. I did them using a light-colored hard brush, with soft and small strokes so that they didn't attract too much attention, achieving a simple but attractive finish at the same time. Then I added a blue rectangle as background and adjusted it a little in perspective to better match the character.

Para finalizar, añadí algunas iluminaciones al personaje. Las hice utilizando un pincel duro de color claro, con trazos suaves y pequeños para que no llamaran demasiado la atención, logrando un acabado sencillo pero atractivo al mismo tiempo. Después añadí un rectángulo azul como fondo y lo ajusté un poco en perspectiva para que combinara mejor con el personaje.

Finally I used a pattern brush and made free strokes to give an abstract finish, then I changed the tone to one that looked good with the character. Finally I applied color to the lines of the character for a better finish.

Por ultimo utilice un pincel de motivo y hice trazados libres para dar un acabado abstracto, luego cambie el tono por uno que se viera bien con el personaje. Para finalizar aplique color a las lineas del personaje para un mejor acabado.
