An easy way to make Acehnese Asam Kareng

    Asam kareng is a special food of Aceh, which is based on dried anchovies, which is commonly called (Kareng), and asam sunti (dried starfruit) the asam sunti is mixed with spices such as chili, shallots, srei, and orange leaves, roughly chopped,This sour Kareng is very suitable to be enjoyed with family during the day, in my opinion this menu is a menu when we don't have an appetite, by making this menu as a side dish I really guarantee that we will immediately have an appetite,

    As I said before, today I really don't have an appetite for rice, let alone food with gravy, coconut milk, so I thought of making this Asam Kareng, besides being very easy to make, I guarantee everyone will like this Asam Kareng, because it is made from fresh natural ingredients, at home almost everyone likes this menu, but we rarely make it for some reason, even though once we cook a regional specialty like this, it is really delicious when eaten with warm rice, right?

    Kareng Asam sunti is indeed a typical Acehnese food, which I highly recommend for all of you to try making at home, because it is very easy to make, no need to cook, just fry the fish until dry, then the other ingredients are only roughly chopped, then roughly ground as usual. and today I will share the recipe and how to make it with all of you


    Materials used

    100 grams of kareng fish
    12 pieces of sunti acid
    15 pieces of cayenne pepper
    1 large clove of red onion
    5 pieces of lime leaves
    1 stalk of lemongrass
    Salt to taste


    Manufacturing procedure



    First


    Wash all the ingredients thoroughly with running water, wash the kareng fish 3-4 times, so that it is really clean and removes all the sand that might be on the fish, then fry the kareng fish until dry, remember, until it is really dry, but don't let it burn.

    Second


    Cut the lemongrass into small, thin balls, thinly slice the lime leaves and shallots and prepare a mortar and pestle to grind all the ingredients.

    Third


    Grind the ingredients starting with salt and cayenne pepper, then add shallots, lemongrass, tamarind and finally lime leaves.

    It's done, the typical sour Kareng from Aceh, the favorite of the people in my house, is done, let's eat, here I only eat rice with sour Kareng side dish, no fish or vegetable soup whatsoever because in my opinion, this sour Kareng Sunti is the most delicious eaten like this with warm rice, no need for any other side dish, hehehe..

    It tastes very spicy, sour and savory, the fish is crispy, the spiciness of the cayenne pepper is just right, plus the aroma of lime leaves. Anyway, anyone who doesn't have an appetite should try this menu, their appetite will definitely come right away like what happened to me today. I really didn't have an appetite for some reason, so I thought of making this menu, as a result I was able to eat a lot today, as did my family, they had a great appetite with simple side dishes like this.
