NOSTALGIA
Today is Christmas Eve.
Memories I have about today as a child are as follows:
- Helping my mum to select the chickens to be slaughtered and prepared.
- Helping daddy prepare them by removing the feathers and cutting the meat into edible pieces.
- Cooking the meat alongside mixing the dough for chin-chin.
- Frying the chin-chin first before the meat till golden brown and crisp.
- Eating the chin chin and selected pieces of meat by mum while sitting and chatting by the fire.
Today, I'm miles away from home because of work and can't do all of these things. I do hope I can do them next Christmas anyway.
