Visiting Pueblo Nuevo - Paraguaná Peninsula

Greetings, Worldmapping travel lovers! It is a great pleasure to participate in this community dedicated to travel the world, its fascinating and diverse landscapes as well as tourist attractions. Each country has its charm and that is due to the great diversity of climates and cultures that we can find; that is what makes this planet such a special place.

This time I am going to tell you about a town in the west of my country, Venezuela. It is Pueblo Nuevo, located in the Paraguaná Peninsula in the state of Falcón. I was in the peninsula due to some work commitments and I had the opportunity to visit several towns. When I arrived in Pueblo Nuevo, to do some specific shopping, I found it to be a very colorful place with very friendly and warm people, almost as warm as its weather. I focused on taking some pictures of its main square, let's say its central area.

In the square you can see the colonial style Church of the Immaculate Conception, where the parishioners gather especially on Sundays to celebrate their faith in God. If there is something that characterizes these small but welcoming towns in the western part of the country, it is their faith and popular religiosity.

I was also able to see the headquarters of the mayor's office with a colonial style and bright colors. Here the locals usually perform various administrative procedures and personal errands.

In the square we can see people who were resting on their benches under the shade of the trees.

In the same way you can see statues of the Liberator Bolivar and General Jose Antonio Paez, heroes of the country.

Here we can see a statue of the Virgin Mary in the invocation of the Immaculate Conception, patron saint of the town.

I also had the opportunity to visit a typical candy factory called Extra, with more than 90 years of experience in the state of Falcon. This artisan factory is famous for having the best milk sweets in the region, made with pure goat's milk. They also have other specialties such as fig sweets, milk sweets with guava, pineapple and blackberry, milk and peanut bars and delicious coconut delicacies, among others.

I bought several types of sweets to be able to delight myself with all those unique flavors, and also sharing them with my relatives. Honestly, I have tasted typical sweets in other regions of my country and the truth is that the milk sweets of this artisan factory seemed to me to have a superior and unequaled flavor, due to the quality of its ingredients; hence the fact that they have almost a century since its foundation and are still standing.

Having visited Pueblo Nuevo, even briefly, was a pleasant experience in which I felt a lot of peace and cordiality from the locals. If you have the opportunity to visit the Paraguaná Peninsula do not forget to stop by this beautiful town and enjoy its typical sweets and warm people.
