Si los hombres y las mujeres somos tan distintos, aunque complementarios, debió despertar en mí cierta sospecha cuando conocí a Gabriela en el bar aquella triste noche. Pero, en medio de mi dolor no le presté suficiente atención a ese instinto básico y primitivo que hay en nosotros.
Era tan perfecta, hermosa y segura de sí misma. Una mujer fuera de lo común que abordaba con facilidad cualquier tema de interés, como si pudiera leer mi mente; me divertía y comprendía completamente haciéndome olvidar las penas que aquejaban mi corazón.
Qué sorpresa me llevé más tarde aquella noche.

If men and women are so different, although complementary, it must have aroused in me a certain suspicion when I met Gabriela at the bar that sad night. But, in the midst of my grief I didn't pay enough attention to that basic, primitive instinct in us.
She was so perfect, beautiful and self-confident. A woman out of the ordinary who easily approached any subject of interest, as if she could read my mind; she amused and understood me completely, making me forget the sorrows that afflicted my heart.
What a surprise I got later that night.
