The overnight brought a beautiful coating of fluffy snow to usher in the final day of March so it looks like Winter decided to have one last hurrah.
Despite the snow the sun was shining brightly and the temperature would quickly begin to rise and the snow would be melting away. Buy for now Lulu and I enjoyed the Winter Wonderland on a snowy 2 mile route.
The snow was rapidly melting as we headed up Walker Rd towards Lynx Creek for a hike along the wet trails. Despite the higher altitude there wasn't a lot of snow left when we started up the narrow trail high above the creek.
We continued along the trail for almost 2 miles and Lulu was running around while I took in the wonderful landscape with the sun shining through the trees and the early blossoms of some wildflowers poking up from the pine needles.
Even though the day started off looking like Winter the forest was almost clear by the time we were finishing up our long hike and I hope that this was the last snow that we will see here in Prescott until next winter.
