"Playing a new formation, with only two trainings, and players in unfamiliar positions and drew to a wicked deflected shot. I am just happy we didn't lose.
My article a few days back had us losing 2-1."
That's a United fan writing after the match. Meaning he is surprised about what played out on Sunday where it was a one-all draw between United and Ipswich Town. United opened scoring very early in the first half with Rashford, but Ipswich equalised later in the half.
I must say I find the guy's quote above as very sensible. Now okay it's 2 training sessions with the full team, but he had other training sesions with parts of the team during the international break.
Yet, I like the line of of thought of the fan above.
Ruben Amorim came to England and his words to reporters on his proposed style in United, suggested to me that he would use that same style as he used in Sporting formation.
Infact it was obvious as another Man U fan wrote before the match
Then I ask those who are disappointed with the result. Oh so you change formation to this new one, that United has never been into since I started watching football and you expect a result against a fighting Ipswich side? That's an Ipswich side that beat a solid Tottenham side in the last match day and drew with Aston Villa recently.
By the way this is the EPL, not a league like the Spanish league that is currently not as competitive.
Look, even the master or genius of this Amorim's formation struggled at the beginning with it in Napoli, before he stabilised and is now leading the league.
^NB:* Conte had a pre-season, Amorim has none.
So it's nice to see a fan being reasonable and suggesting that Man U could loose.
Furthermore since I knew what his formation would be, I looked at the players — it's easy to see that he doesn't yet totally have players who are perfect fit for the style. It's easy to see this.
So those who are even saying this is not Portugal are in another world– a world of making NO POINT. The point is, these things takes time.
