CM Punk made his return to WWE on Monday Night Raw as was announced last week, and I was really excited about it.
Notwithstanding that he is yet to be cleared for wrestling, Punk appeared in his hometown, Chicago where he made some great utterances.
One thing he did was assure that no matter what happens he will be present at WrestleMania 40.
Is this a commitment or not?
He said even if he were injured, nothing would prevent him from attending the big event.
That’s the kind of dedication I respect.
Next, he gave hints about what could be his act at WrestleMania. He hinted maybe hosting the show or providing commentary, but the best part was when he suggested being a special guest referee for the world title match between Seth and Drew.
This would be exciting seeing him back in the ring even as a referee only.
Nonetheless, Punk did not restrict his comments to WrestleMania only. He also name dropped wrestlers such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and even The Rock. For years Punk has been known for his biting wit, and he didn’t mince words in this case. It was very entertaining to watch.
However, things became really interesting when Drew McIntyre came out to confront Punk.
There was a heated exchange between them that got me more hyped about what could happen at WrestleMania.
And I thought it was an even more excellent idea when Seth Rollins joined in the argument suggesting that Punk should be a special guest commentator in his title match.
He has a way with words, and I can’t wait for the match day so that we can hear him speak.
Punk’s comeback into WWE is extremely thrilling for me now. Simply having him back on TV stirring up shit is enough reason to make me get ready for WrestleMania despite the fact that he’s not wrestling yet.
