It's already quite cold here. Somehow the cold weather came very quickly and abruptly after a good summer and warm autumn. Although the first snow that fell has melted, the birds are no longer very comfortable. Today I was walking around the city and saw a titmouse looking for food among the brickwork of a fence.
I was very surprised because I had no idea that you could find something edible among the bricks. I stopped and began to watch the tit. She did not pay attention to me.
The titmouse jumped and clung to all the ledges of the brickwork. It looked around attentively.
Apparently there were small cracks and gaps where various insects hid for the winter. She tried to pull them out of there. Then she moved to the metal fence and began to look for food there. But apparently she found nothing and again began to examine the brick fence posts.
Having examined everything carefully, she decided to find another place where there was food for her.
I was very pleased to see how the titmouse searches for food in such unexpected places.
