I'm back and if you guys have noticed, I'm attempting to be active again after a few weeks of spotty posting. Unfortunately my mind is looking for every form of distraction I can get because I just got my heart broken by my boyfriend. He broke up with me and although I respect the decision because it was not such a messy break up, but it still feels sad. I lost such a close friend of 3 years and the best boyfriend I've ever had in my life even though it was a short 7 months together. So because of that, I've just been practicing and dancing, and gyming and studying. I'm literally just trying everything just to keep my mind off things and so I don't end up having constant emotional breakdowns.
Lol so for an entire afternoon yesterday, I worked on this:

She looks so sad like that even though it was meant to be a speed paint. I rarely do half bodies and rarely ever do something this light 🤣 idk maybe my eyes were looking for a change like my heart is.
Anyways, the process for this was a long and tedious one. I constantly had to fix proportions because I don't think I was drawing her right plus it's seriously been so long since I practiced my portrait skills on digi.
It started off as blobs of colors like this. these are my base colors and they pretty much fall under the same level of saturation so it explains why she looks so anemic 🤣
And I didn't like the features when I was starting to shade in and render. But you know that there's always that ugly phase when you draw where you will either need a break from your piece or you continue. Good thing this was on digital so i tried a few stuff before continuing my render process.
The face thinned out a little too much here but I think it just lacked shading at this point since I had a hard time finding concrete lines as well. Hopefully soon, I can get it right on the first try. I'd like to step up my speed game so I can go back to working on commissions again.
Then this is my last shot for before I finished it up. so I took my sweet time with the hair a bit because I wanted a bit of a realistic look to that, though I only worked in 2 other colors into that hair, but I think it came out nice ^^
Not gonna complain since I tried to rush this one again. Hopefully the drawing I post next time wouldn't be so rushed. It is the holiday here in my country, after all. and as much as I would have wanted to stay in the lab dorms so I could focus on drawing and healing... I have to go back home and help mom around the house.
