Oto is local food eaten by Abiriba ,an Igbo tribe in Abia state and Efik tribe in Nigeria. I appreciate my husband for introducing to us this delicious African dish.
How did my family started craving for Oto?

My hubby have a very close friend who is more than a brother to him , his name is Dan. He is a very good friend and happens to hails from Abiriba .
It all started the day my hubby followed his friend to his hometown for a traditional ceremony called Itogbonma . Actually I can't give details about the Itogbonma festival neither me nor my husband is from Abiriba.
My husband really had fun with his friend in Abiriba. There were varieties of local dishes , prepared by his family but the main dish he was talking about when he came back was this Oto.
He told me that he has never seen any food like this in Igbo land. Grated water yam with lots of ingredients. We all know how kids behave , they are so eager to learn and were so inquisitive . My kids told their dad that they will like to taste Oto. To my greatest surprise their dad promised them that he will meet his friend for more insight on how to cook it.
The truth of the matter is , you can't promise children and fail them especially my own children. Their dad didn't keep to his promise till recently ,the kids started singing their song of "we want to taste Oto"
Infact my hubby finally got Oto recipe from his friend without wasting time.
Today I went to the market and purchased all the ingredients which includes;
Water yam
dry fish
Meat
Crayfish
Pepper
Onion
Palm oil
Salt
Seasoning
The process of cooking Oto
Oto is a delicious local dish.it has wonderful health benefits.
